Hi everybody, Me and my girlfriend got pregnant naturally early in 2020. At 9 weeks we went in for an ultrasound and everything seemed fine, heartbeat and all. But then a few days later we had a miscarriage and nobody could tell us why it happened.

Fast fwd to a couple of weeks ago when we had gotten pregnant again (through IVF) and went to an ultrasound in week 13. Everything was fine and the doctor even said that it ”couldnt look better”. And once again, a couple of days later, we had another miscarriage.

We’ve tried to find people with similar experiences regarding seeing the featus being fine and then miscarrying shortly after, so Im trying reddit. And if you had the same experience: do you know why it happened?

I'm so sorry for your losses.
It's happen in a similar to way to a close friend, she was eventually offered testing as it had happened 3 times. The testing didn't show anything up and it was unexplained. Then for some reason a pregnancy stuck and she went on to have 2 more children. It's really hard not having answers, I hope you get some positive news next time. It's a really hard process I know.

I'm so sorry.

We had a similar experience with our second miscarriage - everything looked to be going perfectly until an out-of-the-blue second trimester loss. We'd had several ultrasounds with a heartbeat and healthy movement, and nobody's been able to tell us why.

Our story hasn't had a happy ending as we haven't conceived since, but I've read quite a few stories on here where people have had multiple losses and gone on to have babies, so there is hope.

Hello, so sorry to hear your of experience. I have not had the same experience, but had two first trimester losses last year, diagnosed during scans at 12 and 8 weeks. The NHS will not investigate until you have had three miscarriages. This is because it is still more likely to be random than to have an underlying cause, until you have had three.

I think you could see if your GP would refer you now, since your most recent loss was at 13 weeks. Or you could look into this privately, which is quite expensive, but you would be seen quickly.

I really recommend Lesley Regan's book on Miscarriage if you want to learn more about it and the potential causes and treatments. But I think it's important to remember that after two losses, your next pregnancy is still more likely to be successful than not.

It's so hard though. I hope this helps.

I'm sorry for your losses especially after you've been told such positive things

Has your OH tried taking vit d, b12 and some progesterone?? If hormones are out of balance that will basically 'stop supporting the pregnancy'

Everything crossed for you ThanksThanksThanks
