Hi ladies,

I am really hoping for some advice & hope, I found out yesterday that my baby stopped growing at 4.5 weeks (I should have been 7+2), this comes after having another chemical pregnancy/ miscarriage in September - again at 4-5 weeks.
I am feeling so empty, I really thought we’d be ok this time after everyone reassuring me it’s so common to lose your first and I thought we’d got past the point I lost my first one.. I am really anxious that there is something wrong with me as they don’t seem to make it past 5 weeks. Does anyone have any idea why this may be happening or any advice or success stories after a similar situation?

Thank you so much!!

Hi @tclj2000, so sorry for your losses. Unfortunately I haven’t got any advice, but didn’t want to read and run.
Try to speak to your GP, who May be able to run some tests.
Big hugs xxx

I'm so sorry for your loss. That's incredibly tough.
I would say the same as @Carefree1.
One test you could request is to check for coeliac disease. Untreated it can led to recurrent miscarriages. You may not have any obvious symptoms, I didnt.
Dont cut out gluten before the test as you need to be regularly eating gluten or you may get a false negative.
Again so sorry for your losses x

@tclj2000 so sorry for your losses. I had an early loss in October and also fear I'm facing another now and both are very early.
I have also had a late miscarriage but also a healthy pregnancy so the typical reasons that cause very early losses likely don't apply to me.
But typically it tends to be possible immune system issues - sometimes your immune system identified the pregnancy as a threat and over compensates. It's too active basically. The other possibility is low progesterone. After ovulation the uterine lining gets thicker if enough progesterone has been produced which supports the implantation of the fertilised egg. If there is low progesterone the lining can't thicken enough making it difficult for the pregnancy to progress.
Usually they won't see you for recurrent loss investigations until you've had 3. I hope you have some better success next time and hope you're ok

Thank you all so much, going to speak to the doctors this week and hopefully they’ll be able to do a blood test or something at least.. i hope everything you’ve all mentioned is treatable xx

Hi, I also had to early miscarriages and then had my DD. It seemed those MC were just not meant to me, no further answer than natures way rather than anything more serious with me.

Have hope, the hard part is often conceiving, you can do that. It’s really incredible rare for someone to be able to not carry a child (of course there are some, but really quite uncommon)

Sending you hugs xxx

@tclj2000 I should add that the likelihood is there's nothing wrong with you, it's just unexplained and nature doing what it does. In my case all my losses seem to be unexplained from early to late. I've had lots of tests done. It's upsetting and in one way you want to have something to fix so you can treat it (and often you can) but the doctor has told me it's better to not be able to find a reason.
It is so upsetting and heartbreaking but early losses are common and there's every possibility your next pregnancy will be successful. Good luck with the journey xx

OP so sorry to hear and just want to send some reassurance your way. I've recently had 2 miscarriages in a row, both at 5 weeks and it was devastating. I have a 4yr old boy and we're trying for number 2 but didn't expect it to be this difficult.

Spoke to the gp after the second mc in November and she said there's most likely nothing wrong with me and mcs are very common. Unfortunately they can't investigate until you have 3 or more. I felt soo frustrated but then to my greatest shock got another bfp on the next cycle right after my mc.

I was fully expecting to lose it at 5 weeks, could barely sleep at night and kept checking when I wiped...but I'm still currently pregnant with terrible morning sickness which is a good thing I heard.

I'm still not feeling relaxed based on my last 2 experiences but we're nearly 7 weeks and this pregnancy feels different than the last 2 where I barely had symptoms. It goes to show some miscarriages are jour bodies way of protecting us so to speak.

Hope it doesn't put you off ttc. Keep trying and praying for your sticky rainbow baby to come soon 🌈🌈🌈🌈xx

Hi I had my 2nd miscarriage around 3 weeks ago at 3 weeks and 5 days, I haven't had a period yet and getting really sore boobs and I'm wondering is it possible to be pregnant again without period? I took a test and was very unclear of what it said?

tclj2000 · 08/01/2021 00:11

@Lille4 thank you so much for sharing this!! had made me feel a lot more positive, hope everything is going well xx

@tclj2000 thank you, everything is going well so far. Had first midwife appointment. Just over 8 weeks now and I'm so sick now and can barely keep any food down😞😞 what keeps me going is this will all be worth it at the end.
Hope you get a bfp soon. Rooting for you 🌈🌈
