So far everyone has been lovely. They say I'm first on the list. I really hope it's not long. I'm not really nervous about the GA, more about the pain afterwards.

Has anyone got any experiences they can share with me?

sorry you're going through this op. i've had this twice. No real pain after, just a bit of bleeding for a few weeks. i felt quite emotional after, but i think that was just the anaesthetic! Also i was starving - hopefully they'll provide you with a sandwich. I've gone on to have 2 children since, if that's worrying you Smile Good luck. x

Thank you so much @DaisyChainsForever that's comforting.
They've said they want me to eat, drink and go to the toilet after the surgery before I can go home.

Can I ask how much bleeding there was afterwards?

It was absolutely fine both times I’ve experienced it. The bleeding for me always seemed to be two weeks, for both natural and surgical. I remember the painkillers sent me very high and I felt rather fabulous at such a crap time in my life. There were no negative consequences for me.

Wishing you all the best xx

The 1st 2 days was like a heavy period. Then it was just intermittent light bleeding, i found the more i 'moved' the more i bled. So i was going out for a daily walk as just wanted it over with. x

Thank you @justanotherneighinparadise I know I've made the right choice. I just want to have it done now and start to get used to everything.

I am very sorry for your loss Flowers. I hardly had any bleeding afterwards and I didn’t need to take any painkillers either. Physically it was fine for me (obviously more difficult emotionally). I was nervous about the GA making me sick or something but it was ok and everyone was very kind. Thinking of you and I hope you are on your way home soon. Be very kind to yourself x

Hi all Flowers
I'm out and back on the ward. Said everything went fine.
Apparently when I came round I started clapping furiously and chanting NHS NHS NHS NHS which is as mortifying as it is hilarious.

I'm glad I did it. Feeling very groggy and dizzy but just want to get home to bed now so drinking and eating and will stumble to the loo soon. Everyone has been lovely.

Thank you again for your kind words

🤭. Bless you. I’ve done some excruciating things when coming around from anaesthetic. Normally massive sobs and screaming. Yours sounds so much better 😊🌸

I had surgical management under GA on 30th Nov. Had 2 weeks of v light bleeding which has now stopped. Almost no pain at all (one or two days took some ibuprofen). Have had some emotional days, which I think are the drop in pregnancy hormones!

Hope it went well for you OP xx
