Im 49 years old, for and healthy, had my 6th consecutive MC on 7th may. Immediately contacted my gp, was sent for bloods the next day. I called today and all I was told was amh was 11 something. I googled and this apparently wouldnt be correct as I had bloods the day after MMC so technically was still pregnant and according to what IV read this hormone significantly decreases during pregnancy (I was 12 weeks the day of MMC, with no symptoms of there being any problems). Also I'd asked during the call if there was any information on what may have happened, the receptionist was super lovely and read a few bits out to me but said they didn't check most of the baby because S H was absent. She had no idea what this was and I have no idea either IV googled so much and can find nothing that makes any sense to me. I would be so grateful if anyone could help at all. Xxx

I’ve been thinking about you all night and even done some googling. What are you hoping to find out? What might have happened and why? If this is the case, could you make a telephone appointment with your gp? You may be able to be referred? Xx

I just want to know what SH absent is really. I'm not fussed about the amh levels as they can be done again. But the receptionist stated the letter said SH absent so spine, heart, stomach not checked. I'm guessing this means the baby had something wrong with it but I can't figure out what and mainly is it my fault? I'd called the gp back again yesterday and again was told I'd get a call back but never, and I totally understand, it's not an emergency and with all the is going on in the grand scheme of things me having a wobble isn't entirely important, I just need to know I think. I'm feeling better this morning, I'd been awake since about 3 trying to Google more but there is so much stuff and it's all very much jargon to me. But thank you so much for thinking of me it's really very kind. Please don't worry I'll be just fine, also I will update this post when I find out for anyone who may experience similar, although I pray it doesn't need to be used by anyone else ❤️ xxx

If they were absent perhaps they hadn’t formed, so it might have been a very early miscarriage that didn’t show up? Had you had any scans prior to the miscarriage?
And miscarriage totally isn’t your fault, please don’t think that. It can happen for any number of reasons, but please don’t beat yourself up about it thinking you have done something wrong. Take care Xx

I think there may have been a miscommunication and FH was absent- fetal heart. That would fit with not continuing a detailed ultrasound. I’m sorry for your loss.

Elles1980 · 23/05/2020 11:37

Yes I had several scans due to my history. I had a scan at 8 weeks showing heartbeat etc. Then 12 week scan showing baby 11 1/2 weeks but no heartbeat. I'm just clutching at straws trying to find an answer I guess. This is the furthest we had gotten and we're so excited. I was still feeling very sick with sore breasts so it was a bit of a shock.
@WillaDaPeephole you may be correct there, I never thought of that but she was very sure it was S H. F H makes much more sense, thank you for responding xxx

I’m sorry for your loss, I would say that it is a typo or miss communication and should read FH absent which would be fetal Heart - Hence not completing the scan and checking the stomach, spine and heart.
It’s never easy and sadly the not knowing why is always hard. I don’t think they do Post Mortems only if There was an abnormality detected.

At the scan she did say there was an awful lot of fluid around the baby's head, not sure if that would have made any difference? I guess I just have to wait and speak to the go, but I agree it does seem like a typo xxx
