Recurring miscarriage

Hi.
This is the 2nd chemical in a row. And before the chemical I suffered a miscarriage @ 10 weeks. Has anyone ever suffered this? And had a healthy pregnancy. I'm so sad about it all xx

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks followed by a chemical miscarriage then a long bout of waiting with nothing. I decided to get some fertility acupuncture, and then conceived again and had a healthy pregnancy. Writing to say do not give up hope xx

Sorry for your losses. You should be offered referral to a recurrent miscarriage clinic after three losses - so make sure they are all on your medical record. I had four losses (three consecutive) and did not get answers from NHS investigations but was finally helped by the implantation clinic in Coventry (prof Quenby) and had a successful pregnancy on their treatment protocol for high UNK cells.

@DarlingCoffee yeah that's what mine was like a missed miscarriage, (which I had before my 2 year old now) then followed by 2 chemical. Would you say the fertility acupuncture helped then. I will try anything, so many of my friends just have simple pregnancies no miscarriage or anything. So it's good to come on here and talk to people who have been through the same. Xxxx

@Patchworksack I am under investigations already due to previous miscarriages, but they can't seem to find anything? Had blood tests and scans and everything seems normal which is strange? Where was the place that you went to? Can anyone go?
I think I need my projesterone levels checking as well I've googled that's a big part.
Been prescribed 5mg folic acid and aspirin and that didn't help either! So frustrated now 😢 xxx

Yes, I really do think it helped. She also taught me to look out for the really fertile times in the month. Apologies if it’s TMI but this is when you get a lot of clear almost stringy like discharge. I didn’t know this. I just wanted to come on to give you hope as I remember myself looking at these boards after two miscarriages and wondering if anyone managed to conceive successfully afterwards. The answer for me was yes, you can. I hope it is the same for you also. Best of luck. ❤️

albiemum · 29/02/2020 17:46

@DarlingCoffee it's so frustrating cause I've cut out caffeine, I've ate healthy, everything I just don't know what's going wrong.
Yeah I've heard that! So il just really watch out what's going on.
I will try everything in my power. I want to try again next month, but I'm just scared for the outcome 😩 xxx

Hi
I’ve had 3MMC in a row and a chemical in the last 10 months. No live births. It’s pretty soul destroying.
I’ve been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic but not hopeful they’ll find anything. Had blood tests (I don’t know what they’re testing) and get the results hopefully at the end of the month.
It’s just crap.

albiemum · 29/02/2020 17:57

@Bathwater it's awful, nobody understands until you've been through it, all my friends are so lucky 2, 3 kids without any problems. I always just think why me all the time! I had a MMC before my child now, which was awful but the next time I conceived 3 months after perfect pregnancy and birth. So I thought it was a one off, but clearly not after 3 losses now. Let me know how you get on. My parents SWEAR by herbs. I'm going to see a herbalist, see if she can pescribe anything to help il let you know how I get on. Xxxxx

Yeah I agree @albiemum nobody does unless it’s happened to them. It’s not one of whose things I feel I can change about myself/ improve. The shame I feel I find the hardest to deal with.
Yeah be interesting to know how you get on with your alternative options :)

Patchworksack · 29/02/2020 18:54

Yes you can self refer. They are doing research into causes of early failure of pregnancy - so IVF unsuccessful or repeated chemicals, early losses or missed miscarriages. They do a uterine biopsy to look for NK (immune) cells that interfere with implantation, and as part of that perform a 'scratch' which stimulates a better lining for the next few cycles. You need to be not pregnant (using contraception) and midcycle. I had blood tests, scans and embryo genetic testing on NHS - when they confirmed I was losing genetically normal foetuses I decided to go to Coventry. There is a long running recurrent miscarriage 'pred thread' on here if you want to discuss it.

anotherypasswordtoremember · 01/03/2020 14:18

Hi all, really very sorry for your losses.
I had a MMC last year and opted to go private for some tests (I know, I'm very lucky to have been able to afford them).
I pushed to get tested for lupus anticoagulant, which is a test I don't think NHS do for multiple loss investigations, and I'm so glad I did because I tested positive.

I've been on Clexane (blood thinners) since my positive test and I've just seen my wiggler waving during the 12 week scan. Without the clexane my chance of a successful pregnancy is less than 20%.

I hope this post is helpful. I know I'm so lucky to have 'only' had one miscarriage but I still feel the loss and the complete feeling of hopelessness and I can't imagine the pain of going through that more than once. You're all doing so incredibly well, stay tough.

Clexane is something I understand the NHS can prescribe following multiple losses so if you're offered it take it!

Full disclosure, the full bill to the private clinic was just shy £1000. But about £200 of that was tests that the NHS would do anyway following multiple losses so you may be able to save a bit if you've already had those.

albiemum · 02/03/2020 11:10

@anotherypasswordtoremember oh wow really? I'm under a specialist now, so I will mention this to her as well. Thankyou so much I would never of even known about this ! Xxx

@albiemum definitely worth bringing it up. It's not mega rare but it's also not common enough to be a routine test.
It could be they just pop you on aspirin whilst you conceive and then move you onto clexane after a positive test anyway, I've heard that's a common 'just in case' procedure following multiple losses, even if they don't actually test for the lupus anticoagulant. Good luck!

Hi there, sorry for the long post.. I am 22 and have just experienced 3 miscarriages since October, all ending at 5-6 weeks, haven't been able to detect a heartbeat.. I always miscarry before. They were unplanned, but I was so happy to be pregnant all times and was devastated when they resulted in losses... I am a healthy weight, no health problems that I’m aware of. My GP has been very unhelpful and isn’t really taking me seriously due to my age, therefore I’m not being able to get tests for anything. I am feeling really lost and depressed over this. Has anyone experienced 3/+ miscarriages and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I am deeply concerned as I have always wanted kids and now fear I won’t be able to. Is anyone able to advise? I also empathize and wish every woman the best who is experiencing this. Xx
