Multiple ectopics

I have just had surgery for removal of an ectopic pregnancy and my tube ☹️

I've been told that the risk of it happening again is 10 percent.

However in that 10 percent is everyone who already had high risk factors for an ectopic eg those who have endo, PCOS, smokers and also apparently IVF increases your risk too

I have none of these but I am older

I'm just trying to work out whether I can work up the courage to try again in the future but I really don't think I could face another ectopic

So do you mind letting me know if you've had more than one ectopic and whether you had risk factors to begin with or was it unexplained?

Thanks so much

Not me but sending hugs! That must have been hard going for you.

If it were me, I wouldn't try again. Not a chance. But then I think all that ivf stuff is a bit far too. Seems like an awful lot of pain and suffering for a currently non existent being.

But I guess if its your dream...
Some people say never give up on those.

But I say, if they just ain't working out for you, maybe it's time to re-asess the - and make new ones xD Chasing a desire shouldn't make you miserable or ill. Life's too short. And there's so much more the world has to offer for you.

I couldn't not post as I have a different perspective.

I didn't have multiple ectopics, I had a miscarriage and then an ectopic which resulted in tube removal. Both were horrendous ectopic really broke me. Not only was I coping with the loss of my much wanted baby but the loss of my tube and potentially the loss of my fertility. I had some pretty dark days and was petrified of going through another loss, miscarriage or ectopic. However, the one thing that I always knew was that my desire to have another child (it would have been my second) was always greater than my fear of what could go wrong. I waited 8 weeks after my ectopic for my period. I then found myself pregnant on the next cycle and am currently 31 weeks. I'm not sure if it's because I already had a child but as I say I knew I didn't want to give up. Whatever you decide know that sometimes things 'just happen'. Our bodies work in strange ways and any new pregnancy would be a different sperm and different egg. If this is your dream then please don't give up, there is always hope xxx

Also couldn't read and run. I have and 2 consecutive eptopics. I was told during the last one of I didn't have surgery I could die but I'm an absolute chicken and refused and had methotrexate instead. Both were in my left tube. I had 2 beautiful girls who came down that left tube that they said was no good and if I concieved from that side would also kill me. They are 9 and 5 now 😊. If you know the signs and are not afraid to approach doctor's hospitals so as not to be at risk then you should be ok. It's totally up to you my lovely xxx
