Awful reminder through my door..

So, I come home from work tonight to find a letter from the midwives saying congratulations and inviting me to my first appointment.
Something that i couldn't wait to see but now it's the complete opposite seeing as I had a miscarriage recently (I was around 6+2).
Surely my GP is aware as I saw them and was referred to the EPU who then confirmed it within days of the bleeding. Do they not pass over the information to avoid this happening?!
I had to self refer so had not heard anything until now so unable to contact them myself but I would have thought it would be somewhere on the system. Now all I can think about is next week I would have been meeting with my midwife for the first time and then booking in for a scan.
I phoned to inform them and cancel the appointment but they're closed, of course, so now I'll have to try again tomorrow.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I'm so sorry. This happened to me too, I got voicemails from the midwives telling me I missed an appointment, then after informing them again they sent a letter with new appointment dates. I still get things through the door from bounty. It hurts. Take care of yourself.

@LG0914 @patphelan

I feel your pain, both of you. Sad Flowers

I just had an MC and I'm in the process of recovering now - physically of course.

It happened on Wednesday 27th of March, and the EPU confirmed it on Friday the 29th- 9 days ago now. Time seems to have stopped since it happened.
On Thursday the 28th- I received a letter from the hospital with my "12 week scan appointment" Sad It's very painful and sad. I'm tearing up just writing this. It's these "little things" that are so huge.

What I can say, is that while at the EPU, they told me that I don't need to do anything and that they would be the ones to contact the midwife and write to the GP. It's very painful for us to have to do that otherwise- so I thought it was logical of them, and it was human of them to deal with that part of it- that being said, I'm hoping it has been done.

Maybe you can call the EPU and ask them if they have informed your midwife and GP? It's horrible having to sort all of this out- it's hard enough dealing with the emotions and the physical aspects of it all. But at least the EPU are empathetic on the phone and would be able to confirm?

hugs

@patphelan I'm sorry it has happened to you as well, it's awful isn't it? I didn't sign up to bounty or anything like that, only on here. Thank you, you too Flowers

@Littleseed I'm so sorry Flowers It is such a tough thing to go through.
They didn't mention that to me at the EPU, I just assumed they would. I tried to call the midwives to cancel my appointment but have not been able to get through, so I called my GP surgery and the receptionist was very apologetic but had nothing on record apart from me being in a&e with bleeding.

Here if either of you need to talk x

@LG0914 It really is hard. hugs Thank you for your support lovely. I'm happy to hear that the receptionist was apologetic and I'm hoping that she'll inform the GP and midwife so that you don't have that added stress. xxx
