Hi folks. It's my first time posting on here, so not sure what's what. I'm just seeking some support I guess. So, I have three lovely children (13,10,6). In October we were delighted to discover I was pregnant with number 4. At 9 weeks, I miscarried. Utterly devastated. I went for a scan which confirmed MC and sent home to let the bleeding continue. I bled very heavily with clots and cramping then in tailed off to spotting and then restarted again- heavy again and then again tailed off. The cramps eased off over about 4 days. Then on off bleeding continued for 4 weeks - i'd think it was sropping and then it'd start again. I felt like there was a difference in blood (sorry tmi alert) - when miscarrying, it was dark red. Then I felt like the bleeding a week ago was more like menstrual bleed - bright red. It's all seems to have nearly stopped the last two days. I called the early preg unit and to let them know I was still bleeding and they got me in for a scan the next morning (yesterday). Basically, then scan showed what they thought was some retained tissue, but it wasn't typical of that , but it wasn't typical of anything else either (e.g. a polyp). They said they were fairy sure it was retained tissue, but just to be sure, they're sending me for a hysteroscopy next week, to remove it (apparently a very small area) and also have look at what it is. The nurse was very clear it wasn't a emergency and she and the consultant were 90 percent sure it was retained tissue, but that they're just being safe. She said with an evacuation, they would go in blind, but this time, they're just going in with a camera. Just to add, i did a repeat preg test and it was negative. I swing between being calm and rational to feeling completely panicked. I'm worried about the hysteroscopy and what if it isn't a bit of retained tissue? I feel really sick- but I think that's constant anxiety and worry and tiredness as I'm not sleeping - it's on my mind day and night. Just wondered if anyone else has had this uncertainty and /or had to have this procedure? Thank you for reading. X
