Reoccurring loss and now another bfp: terrified

I am a regular on mn, and have been ttc for around 18 months, in that time we've had 7 early losses. I never get past 8 weeks. I have PCOS and have had lots of bloods done- all clear. DH got the all clear so now I'm waiting on a thyroid blood test and a hysteroscopy both booked for next month as we are under the reoccurring miscarriage clinic.

However, I've had a positive test last night and this morning. It's faint but it's there.

I am absolutely terrified, defeated and just waiting for it happen again.

I'm wondering if anyone has any helpful tips to try and keep this one stuck?

Also if it would be silly to contact the nurse specialist to see if she has any advise but seems really silly as it's so
Early.

Apologies for the garbled post, I think
It's the anxiety

I don’t have any advice but wanted to respond. I don’t think it would be silly to contact the nurse specialist at all. I really hope this one sticks with you xx

acupuncture? And yes, absolutely contact the nurse specialist - that's what shes there for and won't think you're being silly at all.

I had 5 MCs before having DD - not the same situation as you but I had acupuncture for the first 12 weeks, alongside progesterone (which is what the specialists prescribed me).

Best of luck OP, fingers crossed all goes well for you xx

Thank you so much for the support, I'm
Going to email her and look into acupuncture today.

The lines are so bright now that I'm
Not testing again :-)

I've spoken to her and I wasn't being silly

Nothing they will really do, but have liased with the consultant who believes progesterone might help but as the research is sketchy it would be a private prescription

Yes, mine was private (we’d ended up going private as getting nowhere in the NHS).

Interesting he said that, my mum told me that in her day (late 60s, early70s) progesterone was fairly routinely prescribed in early pregnancy.

Good luck op x

Thank you, I can't go and see her until next week, do you think that would be too late by then?

Can I ask how much it was for you please? If you don't mind sharing of course

I'm afraid I haven't a clue, it was quite a long time ago!

I took it from when I ovulated until 12 weeks. So I guess if you could get it quicker that would be good? But I'm really no expert!

Thank you so much

Have they ever offered you metformin? Apparently that reduces risk of miscarriage for PCOS sufferers.

herewegoagain77 · 08/11/2018 19:07

They refused it both privately and nhs

I'm so sorry for your losses OP. I cannot even begin to imagine how you must feel. Unfortunately I don't have any advice as I've not experienced the same as you - only had 1 mc, first pregnancy after 5 years TTC and just found out today I'm pregnant again 16 weeks after the mc and I'm petrified of another loss.

Just wanted to wish you all the best and how this one sticks. I hope you can get all the right support this time to have a healthy full term pregnancy.

herewegoagain77 · 09/11/2018 06:13

Thank you so much for the support.

And massive congratulations, wish you a safe happy healthy pregnancy

I'm just going to take every day as it comes and see my NS next week
