Anybody got any success stories that didn't have any babies but had two miscarriages in a row, and went on to have a healthy 3rd pregnancy?

@RiverTam thanks for your reply. Five . I'm sure you were just heartbroken. I'm just back from a body talk session. I have heard they can help and the girl was amazing. Have had reflexology and different things to try relax me a little. Fingers crossed it works for me . Acupuncture is on the list. Appointment with Gp next week so hope he will start me on progesterone .

The 'rule' in my area was 3 miscarriages too but they agreed to refer me after 2 because of my age. I was 41 when DD arrived so spent the pregnancy being referred to as a geriatric mother. Blush

I wish you luck. Try to stay positive but don't let it consume you. We'd given up on it ever happening. It's almost like your body starts to do what it should once the stress has gone.

what I found the worst is that the guys in the early pregnancy unit (who were all research scientists, and all men, it's a teaching hospital specializing in fetal medicine) had no bedside manner to speak of and kept on telling me each time that there was no reason why next time (and next time, and next time) wouldn't be successful. Well, with 5 pregnancies ending in 5 miscarriages, I beg to differ, sir!

My mum told me that giving pregnant women progesterone was the norm when she was pregnant (late 60s/early 70s).

@Feebee it's lovely when the medics remember you isn't it - it makes you realise they actually do care.
The midwife who sat with me whilst I cried after finding out about the first MMC at the 12 week scan was on duty when I went for the early scan with the third pregnancy. She was really kind and bumped me up the queue so I didn't have to wait. As I came out of the scan room she was standing there waiting for me and was just about dancing when I told her I was 12 weeks pregnant.
Fast forward to the morning after I'd had DS, there was a knock on the door of the room I was in and in she came saying 'I saw your name on the board when I came in this morning and I just had to pop in to tell you how pleased I am for you' - she was ace!!

I had 2 early miscarriages and then went on to have my DS. I then had another 2 miscarriages, was referred to see a specialist who suggested a womb scan but when I finally got an appointment through I was pregnant with my DD.
I tried taking aspirin which made no difference and a variety of different vitamins (Holland and barratt loved me) but with my DD I didn’t take anything and the pregnancy was successful.
My miscarriages were all before 12 weeks so with each pregnancy I insisted on an early scan.

@Toolchest13 thanks for reply. Lovely to here you have had two successful pregnancies minus the heartache of the other four. I am sure they were well worth it .
