Are there any women out there who have had multiple miscarriages over 40 and finally got their Rainbow Baby??

I am 41 and have 5 kids. My youngest is 6. I remarried and he does not have any kids of his own. We have been trying for 2 years to conceive and everytime it ends in miscarriage. I just had my 5th one a month ago.

Is there any advice out there for me from someone who had experienced something similar?

Have you been offered any tests? I had 3 mcs past 40 and then a baby, with treatment.

Yes they did some blood tests to see if I had any clotting issues and some other things. What kind of treatment did you have to have?

I had treatment for natural killer cells, which is basically taking steroids, plus progesterone and aspirin. Loads of vitamins too especially D3. I had one dc and developed an auto immune issue after (thyroid) then rmcs then dc2.
Given your history it is harder to say what it is - I had to go privately as they seem more willing to “throw the book at it”

I am so sorry for your losses. I am 41 and also have 5 children. Have been trying for a sixth (and final) baby for over a year, with multiple very early losses and two missed miscarriages - at 9 and 6 weeks. Somehow, and I still don't really believe it, I am 11.5 weeks pregnant. It's been a bumpy ride so far, with several scans and lots of worry, but I have had good results from a private Iona test, and have my 12 week scan coming up this weekend. So no rainbow baby for me yet, but on the way there and I am keeping everything tightly crossed. I hope that this gives you some hope.

Yes me. I sadly had three miscarriages aged 42-43 all within 8 months. All early missed miscarriages - one was suspected ectopic.

I then had blood tests and no causes were found.

I went on a health kick. Ate a lot of healthy food including wheatgrass, Brazil nuts, seeds and other stuff which was recommended (e.g. eggs). I also took up meditation.

I got pregnant again and I took aspirin once a day per medical advice and had a healthy baby girl who is now 6😊

I am really wondering about natural killer cells. I have a thyroid problem and my numbers are always up and down. I asked the PA about it and she's sending me to a gynecologist. I'm changing my eating habits too but having a hard time cutting out the coffee in the morning. Is there any other advice you ladies have about what doctors to see or what else you tried?

123dawn how is your pregnancy going?

Your thyroxine dose needs to increase as soon as you become pg, though you probably know that already. Not all GPS do though

If you have a thyroid problem, your meds have to be changed as soon as you get pregnant.

My sister lost a baby, because she hadnt upped her thyroid tablets.
. It is hard tho, as they can take 3 weeks to kick in

Thank you for asking, all is well at the moment. In all my previous successful pregnancies, I just assumed there would be a baby at the end of it. After the miscarriages, I can't seem to bring myself to think like that any more! But I am trying to be as positive as possible, and have started telling people the news. My 12 week scan was absolutely fine, although I measured a week ahead - I know my original dates were correct, but the midwife insisted on changing my due date, so I am now 14 weeks and have a rapidly growing bump. Sending all good wishes to you.
