Hi there,

I have recently had a silent miscarriage. Yesterday I decided to have the medical miscarriage tablets, as I didn't think it would shift on it's own. Has anyone else had this? Is so, how did you roughly know when everything had passed?

I know I'm only on my second day, I had intense cramps 5 hours after taking the tablets, which gave me some clots, some cramps today but very mild and again a clot. I just don't know if I'm expected to have this gush? Most women have had? At the moment it's just brown discharge with no cramping Confused.

Thanks Sam

Hi. I'm so sorry for your loss. I had medical management in March. I believe it is different for everyone, and a lot depends on whether the miscarriage was about to happen naturally or if it was still firmly attached. I was 12 weeks but with a 5 week growth. I had an extreme reaction to the pills and lost a lot of blood and the sac within 12 hours of insertion. I then ended up in hospital as my blood pressure was affected by the speed of the loss. After the first 48 hours it was down to just like a heavy period, and stopped after 8 days.
My advice is to be as gentle on yourself as you can both physically and emotionally. If you do get cramps, camp out in the loo and allow it to just flow. But don't lock the door in case you need help.
Passing the sac was fairly gruesome, I had to bear down and help it out.
Accept all the support you can Brew

Hi and thank you.

I see, gosh see that scared me thinking it may happen so quickly. Mine seems to be going slowly? I'm feeling better already as in I know it's passing. I think it's the unknown that makes me anxious.

I thought I was 11 weeks but the baby stopped growing at 7-8weeks, with no foetal pole etc.

I suppose there's no way of knowing fully when it will end. I feel ok I just didn't know if all women had the 'gush'?

Thank you for your input though and I'm sorry for your loss too Thanks

My mum didn't gush with her first mc, but she did bleed for several weeks. With her second she chose D&C, but says that's because she had me by then and wanted to be more in control.
Wishing you all the best.

I'm so sorry for your loss Op. I as a mmc back in February and I had the medication twice but it didn't work at all for me either time. I had cramps but never passed any blood. No explanation as to why it didn't work it just doesn't for some people. I ended up have the EPRC surgical procedure in the end which wasn't pleasant but I knew it was all over then and only had very minimal spotting after. I hope things start moving for you soon Thanks

Thank you. I suppose it just happens at different stages with women? I know everyone is different, and I think I was prepared for the worst.

I have to say I've been lucky so far, but just hate the unknown and if I'm expecting anything else nowHmm.

Thank you for your input though. I have a call on Tuesday from the EGAU so I will see what they say if nothing changes.

Hi op I had the same situation a few weeks ago. The tablets don't actually work on everyone, I had them twice and ended up having an ERPC as he tablet just didn't work for me.

If you search for miscarriage journey, it's under a different name then you can read my situation which is in detail and will help you.

'My ERPC journey (D&C)' it's under that

Thank you. I'm still getting bits again today so I'm hoping it's just taking it time Hmm.

I will have a look though

Hi there, I had a Missed/silent miscarriage at 11 weeks however baby measured 9 weeks. I opted out of any medication or surgery and actually was very similar to giving birth.

I knew when I had passed everything as our baby was in the sac which was intact. Prior to that I had severe cramps/bleeding, contraction pains.

I wish you well bless you xx
