Wasn't sure if right place to post.
My friend has sadly lost her 7 Week old baby (born at full term) ,I've seen a keyring with the babies birth stone in it.Would this be an inappropriate 'thinking of you' gift or would you see it as thoughtful?

I think that sounds lovely, with a nice heartfelt message that would be very thoughtful of you. You seem like a great friend Thanks

I’m so sorry for your friend’s loss. Flowers

When my daughter died the day after she was born, I was given some incredibly thoughtful and kind gifts. One was given a voucher to be able to get myself an item of jewellery/key ring/picture frame etc that was engraved (name/date of birth/weight/age/hand and footprints etc) so perhaps something like that might be better so you know your friend can choose something to her taste but also know it came from you? Also, the best thing of all is to keep talking to her and let her tell you all about her baby repeatedly.

Thanks I'm glad you don't think it's silly or crass

Sounds lovely, practical thingslike meals that she can reheat so gets a good meal as likely it will ne hard to look after herself. And talk, let her talk lots x

Also remember that even if you don’t see her using the ‘thinking of you gift’ that you get, it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t really appreciate and treasure it. A number of things we were given have gone into our memory box rather than being used or on display and it is partly because it is still too painful to have these things out and partly because we want to make sure they don’t get damaged or lost.

We were touched by everything we were given, even if it was the thought and the love behind it rather than the actual thing.
