Due to circumstances out with my control I am having a pre op consultation for ERPC 1.5hrs before I am admitted for the procedure itself. With this being the case I will not receive the usual info until the last minute regarding items I may need to being with me for the day I will spend in hospital. Can anyone advise what I may need to bring with me? So far I have pads and pants but am at a loss if I am missing anything else. Many thanks x

Earplugs and eye mask

Night wear/dressing gown

Snack ie cereal bar, it might not be food time for a while after when you can eat

Something to do, book, iPad, music.

@Eeeeek2 many thanks. Is your list assuming that I would be in and out in the same day?

I had a long wait so my kindle was essential. Definitely something to occupy yourself with.

I wasn’t told to bring anything specific, they provided me with pads etc.

I was nil by mouth from midnight, have they told you that?

Oops actually yes I was told to bring dressing gown and slippers sorry

@Troika I've been told nothing at all. I had to google about the not eating part also. The organisation is shambolic

I was kept in due to heavy blood loss the night before but released the same day. Personally I'd take it incase you're kept in also petered to change back to my own stuff that those horrible hospitals gowns.

I was on the gynaecology ward, which seems to double as the old lady ward ie dementia patients with broken limbs waiting for care packages. So unfortunately confused agitated ladies weren't conducive to rest, ear plugs could've helped.

Slippers too

Hugs at such a rubbish time- and I'm so sorry to hear it's been made even more stressful by poor organisation. I had this a few months ago and would recommend: Dressing gown, slippers, something to read (you may have a long wait) any regular medication. Comfy clothes, and extra cardigan (I was very cold in the waiting room).

Thinking of you x

Thanks so much everyone your responses have been really helpful. I have also heard that the gynaecology wards can be a nightmare so not particularly excited about that aspect but will be happy for it all just to be over x
