Miscarriage

I've recently miscarried my first baby and had no idea how alone and without assistance this can be. Why do A&E departments not have people who specialise in this at weekends. I really feel traumatised by the whole process and feel there should be far more support for people going through this. I know they can't prevent it in early pregnancy but there should definitely be ways to give people answers instead of being in limbo for days.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Yes - hospitals don't always deal with miscarriage very well. I mostly had my miscarriage at home but I round up at hospital for part of it and that was the worst part!

The Miscarriage Association's website has a forum which I found really useful just yo help me talk through my trauma with people who understood.

'Saying Goodbye' (run by the Mariposa Trust) run lovely remembrance services in cathedrals (they're fairly religious as you would expect in a cathedral. Sometimes hospital chapliancies organise more secular ones).

Take good care of yourself and, slowly, things will start to feel more hopeful.

I totally agree with you. I had to go to a private clinic to get seen on a weekend (because these things don't only happen on week days). Had the D & C at local hospital and it was pretty horrendous. No support what so ever. Hospitals are seriously lacking here. I hope you get the support you need. Sorry for your loss.
