HCG tests at GP - any experience?

I had an early MC last month, fell pregnant again this month but, like last time, my lines don't seem to be getting any darker. 😔

Has anyone had experience of asking their GP to test HCG levels? It seems more sensible than POAS every day and working myself up into a state. Do I just make an appointment tomorrow and ask them to check? How long do you have to wait for results?

(As a side note I'm getting quite worried about hyperfertility as I seem to fall pregnant very easily... Any experience welcome too).

No experience, but maybe can you speak to the EPU that treated you?

I know somebody who did this for their pregnancy after an ectopic. They made a gp appointment at five weeks and said they wanted two hcg tests. The gp was reluctant, saying there was low chance of another ectopic but agreed after insistence from my friend that she had to know what was happening. First hcg was good, second was text book more than doubling, the baby is now nearly six months. Good luck.

Yes I had this following my first pregnancy as I was due to go on holiday and they wanted to check the pregnancy wasn't eptopic. They take bloods and do the same 48 hours later to check they're doubling.

I asked if they would do the same this time as I've recently miscarried and they said they only do this if they suspect eptopic - apparently it's not a reliable method of checking for a viable pregnancy.

Could you ask them to prescribe you progesterone? How far are you?
