Does a chemical pregnancy "count" towards risk?

I had a mmc at 10 weeks in jan, and now a cp at just 4+5. I keep reading that cp is thought to happen in something like 50-70% of all conceptions, but most women don't realise and just think af is late. So although to me it counts emotionally as a loss, I am hopeful that it doesn't increase my risk of another mc in the same way as a later one would. Does that seem right or am I just being optimistic?

I wouldn't think about the statistics too much- I find that statistics stopped comforting me after a miscarriage anyway.
But I do think you are probably right. Your chemical pregnancy probably just didn't even implant so didn't work for different reasons from your mmc if that makes sense. The risk of miscarriage increases after a couple because it might suggest that there is something stopping pregnancies developing- either a genetic issue with you or your partner, or a physical issue such as an incompetent cervix preventing a pregnancy from continuing. And even then, it is more likely that you were just unlucky because the majority of miscarriage happen because of chromosomal abnormalities and this is simply how we all evolved.
With a chemical pregnancy, none of these are the issue so I would imagine it can't be suggestive of a bigger problem.
Hope that makes sense! Fingers crossed for you.
