Did you know that you would miscarry?

Longtime lurker joining to see if anyone who's experienced multiple miscarriage as well as successful pregnancies "knew" which ones would succeed and which ones wouldn't? With DD I had early pregnancy symptoms - needing to wee, sore boobs and extreme tiredness. I had a MC in March last year and had no symptoms, apart from a positive pregnancy test so it was no real surprise to me when I started bleeding. In October I had a MMC diagnosed at the 12 week scan and was gutted - I'd had pregnancy symptoms and never dreamed that I'd get that news at the scan!

I'm now pregnant again, with no symptoms apart from a positive pregnancy test and my first thought was 'here we go again - just waiting for another early miscarriage'. Can anyone reassure me? Has anyone had no symptoms and then gone on to have a successful pregnancy after a similar experience?

Thank you x

I have had a miscarriage without any pain or any other indication that I would miscarry. I had bleeding during a subsequent pregnancy and thought that I was going to miscarry but it continued and ended in a normal birth. I have had subsequent children all without any bother.
Goodness knows what was up with me initially. I was very thin. However no one ever offered any explanation. It was explained as just one of those things.
I don't think it is investigated until you have experienced a few MC.
Anyway best of luck with this pregnancy because it is devastating. Xx

No- I didn't know.

Pregnancy 1- felt sick for weeks, sore boobs, very tired. MMC at 12w.

Pregnancy 2-felt sick, tired, bled from week 8-10. This was DC1

Pregnancy 3-felt a bit sick, bled from w6-7. Miscarried at just under 7 weeks.

Pregnancy 4-immediately after pregnancy 3. No great symptoms. Bled from w5-10. This was DC 2.

Pregnancy 5- bled for weeks, felt sick and had sore boobs. This was dc3

The whole process was quite stressful x

I've had 3 children no bleeding no problems, this was pg4 and I started bleeding 7 weeks I cried straight away cos I knew it wasn't quite right I didn't have many symptoms at all maybe at first but they tailed off, think it's complete now but I will have a scan soon to see x

I've not had a mc but a tfmr.

I 'knew' right from the start that something was wrong. For no reason at all, I had all the same symptoms as I did with dd1 but somehow my mind would not let me picture a baby at the end of it.

I used the phrase 'if this one makes it' whenever I spoke about the baby.

Got some dodgy bloods at 12 weeks and assumed this was the problem I was feeling. Turns out that dd2 had Edwards syndrome, picked up at 21 weeks.

First thing I said to the doc was 'I knew something was wrong'

It's odd because there were no signs (hence it being picked up fairly late) but I had a gut feeling I wouldn't get to meet my dd2. We didn't.

Aww kitty that's awful, in a way I'm glad I had an early miscarriage so I didn't have to go through something like you, my sister went through the same as you it's an awful time she went on to have a daughter then twins!

KittyandTeal · 19/02/2015 16:22

Thank you Laura.

It has been a truly awful time. We are lucky that we already have our 2.5yo dd. We hope to have dc3 at some point once we're ready.

Good to hear positive stories like your sisters.

I think no matter how far along a pregnancy you are it's a heart breaking thing to happen, what happened to me is no worse, just different.

Didn't know with any of my mcs.
I had 7 in total, each one was an unknown quantity.
I had SO much hope for each of them.

Each one was different from the last, didn't follow the same pattern.

Thanks for sharing - I guess there is just no way of telling. I will keep my fingers crossed - that's all I can do x
