I thought i would be passing lots of clots? I started with spotting last fri, full on bleeding started on Sat. Continued heavy on Sun and then slowed down on mon and stopped yesterday. TBH if anything it was lighter than a normal period for me, less painful and no noticeable clots passed. GP said to test again in a week - if it is still pos is it likely i will need a erpc? And no i am sure i am not still pregnant - i no longer have any preg symptoms (other than being a pig which i always am).

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I can only tell you what happened to me I lost a baby at 8 weeks and it started with light pinkish bleeding for about 3 days then on the fourth day it turned bright red with clots and then when I was actually at the hospital on the bed waiting to be scanned I lost lots of clots and the actual sac etc. I think it depends on how pregnant you were.

Sorry to hear this Floss

I bled of and on with DS1 and DS2, and this ranged from period type bleeding, to actually sitting on the toilet and it trickling out in a stream (sorry if TMI!) The difference when I actually had a mc, was that the mc hurt - I had cramps, and I passed clots. Even at 6 weeks I could tell when I lost the sac. With the pg symptoms, looking back I didn't have any prior to the mc so I haven't got any experience of losing them.

How far along should you be? Is there an EPAU at your local hospital, that could scan you? I only went through the GP at the beginning (before I sussed the system) If you go to the A&E department, tell them you are pg and bleeding they should send you round and that should get things rolling.

ff, please go to gp, for an early scan, with my m/c and was only 5 weeks, it was very heavy clots and very painfull, keeping fingers crossed for you.

trace2 · 18/10/2006 11:02

my pains was like mini contractions, please go and put your mind at rest

FreakyFloss · 18/10/2006 11:02

so glad you got app, so just rest until then

madmarchscare · 18/10/2006 11:05

Floss, I was about 6-7 and it was very much like a normal period, maybe a bit less. I was expecting more clots but was told by the sonographer that it was 'completely normal not to see anything' iyswim.

You may still get a positive result on your test if your hormone levels havent dropped fully.

FreakyFloss · 18/10/2006 11:06

thank you trace 2, you've been really sweet.

How sad. Hoping this isn't happening. I had a mc at 7 weeks and the bleeding started quite heavily, much like a normal period for me and then by the next day it was worse and clots etc. I remember it hurting quite badly and being doubled over for about 3 days. I went to A&E and was refused treatment at one hospital because the people who do the scans were on holiday and then at the next hospital was seen straight away and given the bad news.

Thinkning of you

Hello just updating. Test was negative. Ummed and ahhed but decided I ought to se gp to reassure myself - didn't want to not get checked and then develop problems. Went this morning and saw perhaps the lovliest GP ever. He was very reassuring, said how upsetting it must have been for me. Told me to relax and be spoilt! The fact that it is the first time it has happened to me and coupled with the fact that I already have DS means he is not the slightest bit concerned and I should have no problems in the future. He did suggest not TTC this month - not sure yet what I feel about that, but can see the logic. I'm feeling ok - was dreading doing the test but it wasn't too bad. Telling myself that it was only cells - no heart beat. Thanks for all the help on this thread.
