Hi
I wondered if anyone could share any of there stories, I have had 3 miscarriages all at the 6 week mark, recently had the blood tests to check for blood clotting but been told they have come back normal? The dr thinks my hormone levels are ok but not had all the tests for that yet, I have been prescribed hormone pessaries for when I fall pregnant again which we got told me could try again straight away ! Anyone had a similar situation and can give me any info or thoughts would be appreciated as I now feel we are back to square one and just got to wait and see if we have a 4th miscarriage ?
Thanks

Where were you tested?

For clotting, St Marys is the best place and often pick up lower levels than elsewhere.

Sorry to hear about about your losses.

I have no success story to share, unfortunately, but plenty others on here have!

If you have had 3 mcs, you are eligible for investigations on the NHS as to why this might be happening. These usually include a chromosome analysis of you and your partner, checking your progesterone levels at different points in your cycle (usually on day 3-5 and on day 21, depending on when you ovulate), and analysis of the pregnancy tissue that you passed (if it could be retrieved). Have you been offered/done this?

They should def check your hormone levels, there is no other way to find out if they are OK, no matter what your doctor thinks. Sometimes, low progesterone is the problem, which can be helped with the pessaries.

There have been quite a few success stories from people on here that have been tested for NK cell levels, following recurring mcs - this is an immune issue that might be treatable with steroids.

Sadly, there is no guarantee whatsoever that it won't happen again, regardless of any tests they do or what they find. Age is a factor of which you need to be aware.

With my 3rd mc, it was a spontaneous mutation that was non-viable, and there is nothing that can be done to prevent that from happening.

Having said that, there is nothing to say either that it will happen again, there are so many women who have been in the same situation as you and gone to have healthy babies, so don't give up hope!

Hi JBrd thank you for replying, on the day of my appointment the doctor took a full history on me and the dates for the mc's and asked on a little background info from my side, from then he just said that he would send me for tests didn't really explain the tests to me so I don't know what tests where for what, I was actually on my day 2 cycle that day so he printed the forms for the blood tests then the nurse took me there and had 8 bloods taken that day I have to go back next week for the bloods that are taken on day 21, i was only there maybe 25 mins ! I just feel I don't know much still and they didn't explain much to me! And that day was just a whirlwind that I didn't really understand! I'm just at a loss now and don't know what to expect next, I rang today and they said to me that my bloods all look normal! But no other information ! I asked if the dr would be in contact to let me know anymore and she said she will get him to write to me so I suppose I've just got to wait for that, he had sent me for a scan to check ovaries etc... So I have that coming up so it looks like they are doing all the checks but that they didn't explain it very well! X
