Post-natal depression after miscarriage?

Does anyone know if you can get PND following early m/c? I've had 2 m/c this year and feel exactly the same as I did several months after having d/s (now 2). I was then diagnosed with PND and had anti-depressants for about 5 months.
Also would like to know if there are any AD that are safe to take during pregnancy.

I don't know whether you can get PND following a miscarriage. I would have thought, though, that depression after two miscarriages wouldn't be unusual, and really there's not much difference between PND and straighforward depression. My own experience is that PND became plain old depression, so I'm not so sure we should really distinguish so firmly between the two.

Regarding the ADs during pregnancy, I'm sure I've seen several people on this board say they've taken them through pregnancy and breastfeeding. I'm sure someone will be along soon who knows for certain, and can tell you their experiences. Have a chat with your GP, or ask to see someone at your local Mental Health unit and ask their advise.

Please see your GP, there is help available for depression, whatever its cause.

Hiya -
I was diagnosed with PND after a termination where it was a misdiagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress. Ive also had/have depression and the symptoms do seem to merge into each other. I was switched to Manerix when I got pregnant, but stopped as none have very much research. It depends on how beneficial it will be - im breastfeeding but HAVE to take beta-blockers. GP is best person to ask.

Hi retailtherapist,
I was on citalopram and my GP requested I come off them quickly when I got pregnant. My BF is a pharmacist though and wasn't happy at the speed he had asked me to stop so phoned the drugs company.
Basically they asked me to be a guinea pig because very little research has been done on any Ad's during pregnancy!!
I declined.
I would err on the side of caution but as my lovely BF pointed out-the stress of stopping can be as harmful to a babe.
Also-I think depression after two m/c is entirely natural. Please go and see your GP sweetie and good luck.
