Are pregnacare conception vitamins enough?

Hello all, following an ERPC for my 4th miscarriage last month I am trying to get my body ready for the rollercoaster of ttc AGAIN.

I have posted on this board a few weeks ago and thanks to everyone who posted and advised me.

I have now had a period 7 weeks post ERPC so am able to roughly know when I am ovulating (hopefully).

We've had the results back from the ERPC which are that there were no chromosomal problems with the fetus, so that's good I guess.

DH is cutting down his alcohol consumption, I rarely drink alcohol or caffeine, we both eat well/exercise and I am taking pregnacare vitamins. I've been advised by my consultant to take 75mg of aspirin as soon as I get a bfp.

I have heard that B vitamins can help - are there enough of these in the pregnacare vitamins does anyone know?

Also would it be wise to take aspirin in advance of bfp?

We are also awaiting a referral to Lesley Regan but have made the decision to ttc in the meantime due to our ages and age of our DD - I am not sure how big an age gap I will realistically go to. Sad

Feeling a bit desperate today, it comes in waves. Sad

Any advice gratefully received, thankyou.

I was told 75mg aspirin, 400mg progesterone twice a day and 5mg folic acid from the point of a BFP. There's nothing wrong on my RMC tests. It didn't work for me this time, but that's all the therapies my consultant considered were in the "can't hurt, might help" category. Nice thread for RMCers here if you'd like to join us.
Have you already had the standard tests? Do you know if there is more that Lesley Regan offers? I guess this is maybe the next step for us too.

Thank you baking tins and I am so so sorry to hear of your recent loss. It must be heartbreaking for you.

I would recommend pursuing the Lesley Regan route if you want to, my consultant was a bit dismissive and said that there was nothing she would do for us that he hasn't, but I would prefer to find that out for myself rather than take his word for it!

I have had all the RMC tests yes and nothing has ever been found. But 4 in a row really is bad luck isn't it??!

She may not be able to do any more for us but I would like to see a specialist now, my consultant does not specialise in RMC.

I will join that thread at some point, thank you for reminding me of it. Sending you Thanks

Hi Blimey. So sorry for what you've been through.

I take a barrage of vitamins based on Marilyn Glenvilles advice (I'll add a link on the next post as I'm on my phone). She's a nutritionist who specialises in women's health. I take her preconception multivitamin which I get from Amazon as its cheaper, mega dose vit c (2x500mg), mega dose flaxseed oil (1000mg) or evening primrose oil if my cycle is irregular but only up til ovulation & a big dose of vitamin D.

However I have no idea if this all works!! I had a mc then took them and had my DD then had two more mc not taking them all. Am on them again and am just pregnant again (but expecting the worst!). despite the cost I feel like I'm doing something positive and I'm sure its reduced the amout of illnesses that I've had.

I'm now also on progesterone, 75mg aspirin & folic acid. But I've been told my one of Marilyn Glenvilles nutritionists that I shouldn't take the extra vitamin C and omega 3 as they also thin the blood. Have googled and can't find evidence of this so have just reduced the dose! Gets a bit complicated...

I'm on the rmc thread with Baking - definitely pop over and say hi!

Had mc no. 5 two weeks ago. Am now doing the 5mg folic acid thing - in my case I have been diagnosed with MTFHR mutation, which involves difficulty in processing folate and may be involved in rmc. It's all a bit shot-in-the-dark with me as I'm not classically recurrent (have never had 3 in a row, have two children) but clotting issues likely to be involved somewhere, and the extra folic acid certainly won't hurt.

Thankyou tea and Picardy for posting and for your advice. I am very sorry to hear of your losses and hope you are ok Flowers.

I will pop on to the RMC thread.
