Hi everyone, I'm new on here and didn't want to sideline someone's thread by jumping in or post in the wrong place, so if I am please point me in the right direction! Just wasn't sure because its not the conception part that seems to be an issue, so i apologise if I should be elsewhere. and also please tell me if its tmi or not appropriate!

Me and my fiancé have been ttc since august - we got pregnant first try/cycle (not sure on terminology sorry) however i had a mc at what would have been 8 weeks. I had a lot of complications after this and was out of action until around mid december when we decided to start trying again.

Sure enough i was pg again but went to the hospital and they had more bad news for us (5.5 weeks), i elected to go the surgical route as last time was just too painful and ended up having to do the surgical route after anyway.

I've conceived first time both goes but not keep the baby past a short period of time? i know this could just be luck and subsequently unluckiness has but has anyone had experience with this?

any help would be much appreciated!

i forgot to put first time we went medical route initially - not sure if this has any relevance. also I'm early 20s as is my partner, not sure if this might make any difference?

I'm so sorry to hear of your losses grotbagz.
Now I dont know for sure and my guess is nobody could say for sure ...however you may just have been on the bad end of bad luck. Infact its more than likely.
Miscarriages are more common than many of us realise ...statistically 1-2 out of every 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage. Its heartbreaking I know.
There are small risks associated with surgical intervention but my guess is you will go on to conceive again and have a lovely healthy sticky baby. Much love

I have had 4 miscarriages and lots of tests that all came up fine. Then I came across luteal phase defect. I monitored my ovulation and sure enough my luteal phase, time between ov and period, was only 9-10 days. I mentioned this to my doctor and consultant and was prescribed progesterone. A short luteal phase can be a sign of your body not producing enough progesterone once you have conceived hence the need for a supplement. I am now 27 weeks pregnant and convinced the progesterone made the difference. I also take baby aspirin. Monitor your cycle with ov sticks and see your doctor. Good luck xx

You can also ask your gp to test your thyroid as higher miscarriage rates are associated with a tsh over 2.5

Hth xx
