Re current miscarriage referral - a question

Can anyone please explain how they were referred for tests for recurrent miscarriages?

I've had two v early miscarriages last year, had a break from ttc, and this last week i have found out I'm pregnant again in our first month of trying. I strongly suspect this will also end the same way - test lines not getting stronger and I've no symptoms. Totally gutted. With the previous miscarriages I only sought medical advice after it had passed (we were on holiday and I couldn't face going to a epu) so the drs only have my word it happened. With the second the drs took bloods so they have some test results. I understand that after 3 miscarriages you can get referred, assuming this pregnancy goes the same way and the drs get some bloods this week will that be enough to get referred?

We have one DD who was conceived without problem prior to these miscarriages so I appear to be able to get pregnant, but now I'm having trouble keeping hold of it.

Devestated doesn't come close, but I need to put the emotional part to one side and focus on trying to understand why this keeps happening.

If anyone is unfortunately able to share their experience it would be most aporeciated.
Thanks

I hope you are wrong and you have no need of the doctor, but if the worst happens then your GP can refer you for tests. Fingers crossed it works out for you.

Really sorry to hear about your mcs suntoday

I had 2 early mcs too - with the first I was seen by our local EPU, with the second we were away and although I did go to A&E the HPT was -ve by that point anyway. I just went to my GP and laid out my case and he was lovely and agreed to refer me anyway. The cons did a few tests which all came back negative.

Good luck with this new pg. After my 2 mcs, I had 3 healthy pgs so while I know how scary this feels, this is a brand new pg and there is a good chance all will be well. (Even after 2 mcs, your chances of a healthy pg are still very high - it is also a good sign that you get pg so easily)

I didn't go to the doctor for my first two. I did call them when the first was happening, but they said I didn't need to come in - just to stay in bed, take painkillers and drink water... I went into the EPU with my third to have a scan to confirm it. I also saw my doctor about getting a referral and he was a bit reluctant. Then I had to go back to the EPU after a week to have another scan to check everything had come out. The midwife said that at least they would test me now and I told her my doctor seemed reluctant to do it. She wrote him a letter saying they advised I was referred and he did it straight away. I think you might just have to be a bit pushy at worst. The protocol is to refer after 3 so you totally don't have to go through it a fourth time without the reassurance of testing. They'll also do more frequent scans. My consultant said that's one of the things she thinks can help the most - the hand holding they an give you. I hope you don't need it too. I don't know if pregnancy test lines always get darker if things are going okay. I'd try not to worry unless you get some bleeding or if you did have symptoms and they stopped.
