Vic1587...so sorry to hear of your loss, I DO know how you feel. First of all, let me say, do NOT give up. I am 46 now but, I got married when I was 24 when we tried to start our family, I had 3 miscarriages, all 3 happened early in each pregnancy, I believe it was betwen 9-12 weeks. Needless to say when I had my third one, my husband and I were even more devastated, and my doctor was very puzzled. I had NO trouble at all getting pregnant, but just kept losing them. We had chromosome tests done on both me and my husband, everything was good. My doctor sent me to a Fertility Specialist and had me tested for a Ludeal Phase Defect (a suggestion from a doctor friend of my doctor who was from England). They do a biopsy of the cervix at a certain time of your cycle. Sure enough, my results came back and that was my problem. SO, people that have that, have to take progesterone (a vaginal suppository every night at bedtime for 20 weeks) and this allows the pregnancy to continue. You can google Ludeal Phase Defect and also ask your doctor about it. To sum it up quickly, when you become pregnant, for the first 9-12 weeks, progesterone comes from outside your uterus, after that it comes from within the uterus, I didn't have enough progesterone to get me to that stage so I was losing them. I took progesterone for the first 20 weeks with my first pregnancy, my levels were right where they needed to be, had a wonderful pregnancy and gave birth to a healthy baby girl, who just turned 18 : ) When I got pregnant with my second child (5 years later), I didn't go through any more testing but took progesterone again, and again, my levels were right where they were supposed to be. So, evidently if that is a problem, it must not go away. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who is 13 now. I had never heard of that but have shared my story with a lot of people, every chance I get and have had a few success stories in return so, maybe this is something you and your doctor can look into, this is only one cause of so many but it won't hurt to be tested for that. Good luck and I hope you have happy, healthy pregnancies ! : ))
