I am missing out BIG TIME!!

They are featuring specialist midwives, specifically re occurring miscarriage specialist midwives.

Heres the thing, there is nothing like that here.
I relate so much with the woman who dropped a spoon on her bump & freaked out...thats going to be me, and i have no one in a professional capacity to talk to.
I have no one to hold my hand through this.

I have been reffered to the consultant, but not going to see her for another 13 weeks now.

I have struggled to get an appointment with a midwife...who only run clinics on a Thursday afternoon...when i am at work!

I am 16 weeks now, i have had to ring and leave messages with the receptionist, wait for them to get back to me.

Really pissed off with this lack of engagement. Feel abandoned and liek they are not taking me seriously.
sigh Sad

have you asked for any special care? I get this level of care front Liverpool rmc up to 12 weeks. they will do it all the way through if I want to give birth there but its a bit far from my house.

my local hospital have referred me to a case load midwife who will see me for all ante natal appts at home and will be with me through labour so I see the same person everytime.

maybe your local nhs trust do something similar.

If I wasn't getting this I would use a private midwife. I need to know I can ring someone to freak out about dropping spoons and cheese!

where do you live? I am in lancashire

St Marys is known for being a specialist hospital but worth asking about geeting extra care. I am seeing a MH midwife as on ADs.

pebspop im in Lancashire too.
I did go to Liverpool re occurring MC clinic last year, but they discharged me....i presumed that you only went there when suffering mcs.

Its a bit of a treck for me too, Manchester would be much nearer and easier to get to.

i would ask your midwife for a referral to st marys in manchester then. you might get that lady who was on the tv to look after you.

there shouldn't be a problem getting referred as you are pg after recurrent mc. and that is exactly who those midwifes are there to look after.

yes i'm going to ask.

I could do this alone, i am after all a normal pregnant woman now. Smile

But to have some one, even just at the end of the phone every now and again, would just ease my desperate head and those desperate thoughts that come every now and again.

Nice to talk to another Lancashire lass pebs xxxxx
