Honestly, how long does it take to "get over" a MMC?

I in the "limbo" period where I have to wait yet another week for a rescan which is likely to confirm an empty sac (as it did at 7 and 8 weeks). If I had an ERPC in mid-March, do you think I'd be able to enjoy a holiday just after Easter? Was really looking forward to eating lots of fruit, relaxing and getting some sun on the bump but now I'm not so sure...

So sorry that you are in this position.

I had an ERPC on the 24th Feb, and it surprised me how quickly I felt normal physically afterwards. Emotionally though I am still a bit wobbly though, and feel almost normal until something hits me like a brick wall.

We went to the lakes last weekend, just 10 days later, and my bleeding was very slight. It was lovely, and stopped me moping about. It was very much a last minute thing, but I'm so glad I did.

My parents live in Majorca, so whilst I'm signed off, I'm going to visit them this weekend with my toddler, (on my own without DH), and it will only be 2 weeks since, so I must be feeling ok!

I would say that a holiday would be fine then, from my own experience, it was just the few days after that I needed to push away the world.

Andie x

Thanks Andie for that info, very helpful, and sorry you're going through it too. I want so much to enjoy the time away after this unexpected turn of events and particularly want NOT to be a misery or to spoil it for hubby, my mum and DD.

PS I hadn't really thought about how much time off work I'd need. How much are you taking? I only went back after mat leave on 6 Feb so they won't be delighted however long or short the time is!

I had an erpc for a mmc a fortnight before we went on our 'babymoon' to the Caribbean Sad We couldn't cancel without losing the money and I was expecting to be too sad to enjoy it but actually it was lovely - bittersweet, but there was sweetness and DH and I having the private time together made a big difference to the emotional healing process.

Physically I was fine - I felt miles better after the erpc and didn't have much bleeding. I made sure we had good travel insurance etc but all was fine.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, all the best.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. I would definitely recommend going on your holiday. You should be recovered from the operation by then and most likely you won't be bleeding. make sure you do have insurance that would cover you if you had to cancel for medical reasons at the last minute.

As far as work is concerned I would recommend at least a week off following the ERPC.
