new to this board, but would appreciate any advice from you all. i am ttc, and following a positive on clearblue ov pred. kit dp and i managed to have jigglings twice at that "time". this was day 10-12. then on day 24 i bled prettily heavily for a day and a half and then stopped. (by the way, v unusual to have period on day 24 - usuually 27 or higher. then nothing for 2-3 days. then very very light brown spotting for about 5 days. v sore breasts, and 2 positive prenancy tests. my question is - i have convinced myself that i miscarried, but would i still have other pregnancy symptons (nausea, boobs etc) besides the positive home tests if I were no longer pregnant but still carrying HCG in my body? thanks.

I can't help you with that one Madgirl. I just don't know. I hope you get an answer soon.

Have you contacted your GP?

M2T · 10/11/2003 13:28

Could it have been an implantation bleed??

When did the spotting stop?

hana · 10/11/2003 13:30

madgirl, you must be really worried. I would request an early scan at your local hospital and your pregnancy could be confirmed. The first bleed you had may have been implantation bleeding? And the second - so many women do bleed throughout their pregnancy and it's nothing to worry about, however, other women bleed and it isn't always good news. Please request the scan through your GP or go to an EPU at your local hospital to reassure yourself. Fingers crossed for you that it's all good news. Let us know what happens,
hana

Hi Madgirl, you must be going out of your mind.
Did you have cramping with your bleed? With any kind of bleeding, like the girls have said ring or go and see your GP. Sending you lots and lots of luck.

thanks so much everyone for reading my post and replying. juicypips, i had a little bit of a cramp but nothing like i would have expected. dinosaur, reason i am sure i have miscarried is that the bleed was so sudden, and RED, and everything i had ever known or heard about bleeding or miscarrying in early pregnancy made me feel like that this was no ordinary implantation period, then on another thread on this board i read that the hcg hormone can hang around for 3-4 weeks even, giving you + pregnancy test results. i have just spoken to the epu where i live, and they have said i can go tom. morning.

Madgirl, so glad you are going in tomorrow.
Dispite what your going through, i know its hard to be at all positive but do try as much as you can. They are all good signs if the bleeding has calmed down, no clots and your still feeling pregnant. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Let us know how you get on. Lots of love and luck.

quackers · 10/11/2003 16:00

So sorry to hear this madgirl. I do hope it's good news tommorow. I did have HCG in my body for about 7-8 weeks with both m/c. I know the earlier the m/c the quicker the HCG returns to normal. It's so tough all this waiting and not knowing. I am genuinly thinking of you and wish you strength to get through the next day or so. LOLxxxxxxxx

quackers · 10/11/2003 16:02

BTW forgot to add that 80% of bleeding turns out to be nothing. Good luckxxx

bunny2 · 10/11/2003 21:02

Madgirl, I really hope you get some reassurance tomorrow. Best of luck.

My mum had this, she lost a large amount of blood and was sure that it was her period, but then the next month she skipped her period and went to her doctors to be told she was 10 weeks pregnant. The doctor told her that it was possible that she was carrying twins and lost one, but she still had one (my one and only bro)
I miscarried in 1999, it was sudden bleeding too, but when the hospital did a pregnancy test it was negative. The baby was still there, but wasn't virable with your test still being positive it is still possible that bubs is still there

popsycal · 10/11/2003 21:11

similar thing happened to me two years ago...
went to early preg place but kept having to go back for scan because at first baby was too small to show a heartbeat
DS s 15 mth old now and lush
had this experience when about 4-5 wks preg
hope it helps

Brunhilda · 10/11/2003 21:52

madgirl good luck please let us know. I am following your posts. On the other thread I said I was in similar situation. I still am. POs test last week but been spotting for 9 days now. Pink and brown and occasionally a little red. Was planning on waiting a couple of weeks to let nature take her course. I don't think scaners can see anything this early (today is only day 28 of my cycle. I had 2 mcs beforeee and one gorgeous baby - had spotting with baby but not for this long. Will be thinking of you.

madgirl · 11/11/2003 11:29

Well, I just thought I would let you know how I got on at the epu. I?m pregnant, only 5 weeks, so need to go back in 2 weeks to see if all progressing ok, they are not sure about the bleed, and they found a small cyst in my ovary which they need to keep an eye on that . so vv glad I went and keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for all your support and advice, I really did appreciate it, and it kept me hopeful, and you were right!

Madgirl - !!!!

Easy to say, but try to relax now and get used to the fact you are pg.

oliveoil · 11/11/2003 11:39

Hurrah, excellent news! Another pg mumsnetter! It's like those checkout operators you read about that all sit on a particular chair and get pregnant. Maybe this site has a babydust vibe at the mo.

quackers · 11/11/2003 12:40

Brill news Madgirl. So encouraging to hear for a chnage that someine has gone in with bleeding and had come out on the positive side!!!

hana · 11/11/2003 12:42

WSM · 11/11/2003 13:03

CountessDracula · 11/11/2003 13:05

CONGRATULATIONS MADGIRL

madgirl · 11/11/2003 13:19

thank you everyone. i must admit i felt a bit awkward posting the message on this board, knowing what sad situations many of you have found/find yourselves in, i wish you all lots of luck and best wishes.

Don't feel bad/guilty madgirl. You were in exactly the same position as many who go on to get not so good news, your concerns were/are just as valid as those of us who have miscarried. Go on and post on the 'Due July thread' (if there is one)

Yippeeeee!! oh madgirl what wonderful news, i feel a bit tearful, coz im soooo happy for you!
You must be feeling a whole lot lighter today.
I had a cyst near my ovary and the sonographer said it had burst, as there was some fluid there, she said it was quite common. Dont know if that is of any help to you tho.
Let us know how you progress. So pleased!!
Lots of love and luckxxxxxx
