Are these cramps normal?

Found out yesterday we had lost our baby. It's heart had stopped a few weeks back when it was just 7 weeks but i had no idea.

Started bleeding very lightly sat but today its got alot heavier in so much pain they are what only can be described as contractions (I know as i've already got 1 child). They come every 2 mins heavy and intense also feel the urge to push what can i do to ease this nightmare it's hard enough without this awful pain.

Im so sorry for your loss, - i would go to the hospital you dont want to go through the pain without some help or understanding of what to do next! i hope someone is with you also the support is always good!

I'm so sorry to hear your loss. Its so sad. I lost mine about the same time I was about 6 and half weeks. But didn't start to mc til about 8wks, and then it took another 2 wks til it was confirmed by scan that i mc'd.

I did experience some very strong pains in the 2nd wk of bleeding, they only lasted a couple days, but as the mc had not been confirmed at that stage, i could not take any painkillers. It was an awful time.

Like mama5 says, can you contact your doc or the hospital for advice

I had a few days of gradually worsening cramps and bleeding getting heavier, then definite contractions for a few hours. That seemed to be to get the sac out, as they stopped after that, but I had more later that evening for about 3-4 hours to get clots out I think and once the biggest were gone it stopped again. I had codydramol from the hospital and it took the edge off, but we called an ambulance when the pain got very bad in the evening (turned out to be a big clot stuck in my cervix, although it came out without intervention - sorry if tmi).

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. It is horrible. I'm hoping the worst of it's passed for you now, but if you can't cope with the pain or bleeding go to a&e, or call an ambulance (we found I got in quicker when brought by ambulance). I really hope you're alright now and it's done.

Be very careful. If you start bleeding heavily, and are filling more than one pad per hour get to A&E. The cramps are totally normal, its the bleeding you have to watch. Sorry you have to go through this.
