Do I need to do a pregnancy test again? (Chemical pregnancy)

I took my first test on CD 28, I got a faint positive, I tested on CD 29 with FMU and got a negative and then proceeded to get my period later that day! Do I bother wasting money testing again? I have been bleeding for three days but it has pretty much stopped, although I still feel achy and have slightly tender breasts, I think this could still be hang over hormones though? :)

Hi loopy, I hope things are ok with you? I wasn't too worried, wish the sore boobs would sod off! I am just pleased I got pregnant in the first place, shows my body is working which is a relief. Sorry I didn't seek u out at the ll talk ages ago, I was miserable as was supposed to be having 12 week scan that morning.

Purple, just wanted to share my similar experience. Tested last week when AF was due and got a faint positive. Then another faint positive 2 days later - was a bit concerned it wasn't a stronger line. Then AF 2 days after that. No cramping but heavier bleed than usual. TBH it has upset me quite a bit, weirdly - I think maybe because I did have that brief few days where I had got my head into "I'm having a baby" mindset. And I'm also blaming the hormones for the silly amount of dissolving into tears! I hope you are doing ok yourself.

Anyway, it has helped me to read your post Purple, as I do believe mine was a chemical pregnancy too so helps to give me some perspective.

BTW I have namechanged even though I am more of a regular lurker than poster.

Hi Madding, it is so hard when you have a few days to get used to it and you have missed your period, I think hormones are not to be underestimated, I still have tender boobs and I NEVER suffer with that.
I am glad my post has helped, I am doing ok, I am truly just relieved that my 'plumbing' is working as I have been trying for 6 months since a previous miscarriage and I was starting to worry, as I was so quick to conceive before.
However, I was still really upset for a while and it has taken a bit of crying to get to a more positive outlook. I hope you feel better soon and be kind to yourself, Fingers crossed for next month! :)

Thanks Loopy and Purple, this is my first "miscarriage" (to be honest I think I can handle it better if I don't call it that!) and I know others have been through far worse. Including both of you by the sound of it. I am lucky to have the most gorgeous 2 yr old DD already and have only been TTC no.2 for 6 months. As you say, Purple, it does at least provide reassurance that things are working properly!

Fingers crossed for next month for all of us.
