If you type recurrent miscarriage into google it will come up with lots of sites - I have read them all!

I have 2 living children from my first marriage, no problems concieving, pregnancy or births. With no 2 dh we had three early miscarriages (8, 6 and 12 weeks) and then fell pg with identical twin girls. Unfortunately we lost our girls at 22 weeks due to iugr and ttts. Since then I have had 5 further miscarriages (8 5 5 9 and 9 weeks). I am under the care of a recurrent miscarriage specialist. We have had very nearly every test going but we keep coming up fine. No one person in the medical profession has been able to tell us why and therefore that we cannot. Our girls made it past the early miscarriage threat but weost them to specific I'd twin problem. Although we list them they are our only hope that we can actually manage it together iyswim.

I think a vast majority of women never get an answer - and that is ver distressing. You will be checked for blood problems, thyroid problems, hormone problems, nk cells ( very expensive and only available privately), uterus problems and cervix problems and diabetes. Ooh and chromosome abnormalities and your oh will have a sperm test. If nothing comes up o. Any of these tests you may fall into the no answers category.

We are stll trying and hoping one day we WILL bring home a baby.

It takes a lot of emotional strength to keep going after miscarriage but the only alternative is to give up trying.

I hope you get some answers and that you have more luck next time.

I don't know anything about rcm's but am so very sorry for both your losses.

minmooch, I take my hat off to you, I don't know how you do it. I'm knocked sideways by my first.

Harrassed - I have no choice but to pick myself up, dust myself down and continue with life. If I give up it will have all been for nothing. I am 43 so running out of time. Whilst I am still ovulating then we are in with a chance - even if it is a slim one.

Good luck to each and everyone of you. Miscarriage is awful, recurrent miscarriage devastating, stillbirth beyond imaginable pain. But I am proof that somehow the human spirit is strong.

Hi laylasmummy

Have you read Lesley Regan's book - "Miscarriage, what every woman needs to know"? She is the head of the recurrant miscarriage clinic at St Mary's London and very knowledgeable. Its a useful read.

However, she makes scant mention of my condition which is very "rare" (underdiagnosed?) and very hard to get diagnosed/treated. I have Ashermans Syndrome (scar tissue on uterus/cervix) which can cause miscarriage at any stage of pregnancy, IUGR, placenta acreta/increta/percreta/ and infertility. There are only two specialists in the UK who can recognise and treat this condition. If your periods are very light/non existent then have a look at www.ashermans.org for more info about it or you can follow more links on this thread

I developed AS after a successful pregnancy it caused my mmc, and then after the ERPC my periods stopped. It took me 8 months to find out what was wrong and put it right.

Hope you find answers, not knowing is the absolute worst.
