How long after ERPC can I swim?

I found out on Monday that I have a MMC. My ERPC is booked for tomorrow afternoon. I usually take DD swimming on Saturdays. We want to keep everything as normal as possible for her, however I guess this Saturday is going to be too soon. Am I right?

Yes I believe it will, you need to wait for the cervix to close, ask at hospital.

I am sorry for your loss and I hope the op goes as well as it can xx

Thank you. It was a complete shock. It was my 12 week scan and I had no hint that anything was wrong, but knew as soon as the sonographer started that it was not right.

So sorry for your loss. I had a MC a few months ago and after my ERPC I was told to wait 20 days before swimming or having sex. Good luck with the op, it is over very quickly xxxx

You poor thing, I just knew too when the scan was taking longer than I would have expected, I found out at 10 weeks as I was being monitored due to a previous MC. The words 'there is no heartbeat' will be forever burned into my brain. Take care x

The hospital phoned me today and they have brought my op forward by one hour. I really just want to get it over with now.

feeling for you
I hate that "there is no heartbeat". Another classic "there is no 12 week pregnancy here".
Horrid.

Ref the swimming, yes, sorry will very likely be too soon. You will most likely bleed for at least a week, maybe several, and are advised not to use tampons. I think I did after about 2 weeks with my 2nd ERPC as, like you, wanted to take DS swimming. But I figured for 45 minutes and with minimal blood loss by that time, it would be ok. It was.

So sorry for your loss. It's pants.

Thank you. DH will probably take DD swimming this week. He has never done one of her lessons before, so it will be a novelty for them both. DH was meant to be away working from this week until mid-December. Fortunately he was able to get some one else to cover his work for a couple of weeks. He is self-employed so will earn no money but I don't think I could have coped with this on my own and he would really struglle to be away at a time like this.

My op is in a few hours. Right now I am really hungry!

will be thinking of you this afternoon. Enjoy eating lots of forbidden stuff afterwards. I enjoyed lots of pate and Gruyere (and wine, probably sooner than was advised Blush)

Sounds like you are getting great support from DH - that's really important. And enjoy extra cuddles with your DD.

I had my op yesterday evening. I am feeling mostly OK (my fango feels like it has been kicked!). I have had a huge lump of brie and am eying up the bottle of Baileys for later.
