Sorry for weird sounding title, but wasn't sure what to put. Decided I should post before I drive myself mad!
I have had 2 mmc over the past year and a half, 1 at 17 weeks and 1 at 13 weeks. Both were medically managed, so I delivered and saw both babies.
The consultant I spoke to before my first procedure told me to look for blue/grey 'materials', as this is the colour of 'pregnancy tissues'. When my baby came she was a blue/grey colour. But when I had my second baby he was normal skin colour. I just cant get this out of my head, and keep worrying that maybe he had still been alive, and it had been an awfull mistake.
I know I shoud prob speak to someone at the hosp, but I feel really silly for being so upset etc...
Sorry this is a bit rambling and odd, but any other experiences would be really helpful. Thanks.

poor you - you must be very traumatised after two losses both after the 12 week mark.
you don't say how the second miscarriage, the one at 13 weeks, was diagnosed? was there no heartbeat at the 12 week scan?
i've no idea if there could have been an awful mistake - surely very unlikely - but didnt want to leave your post unanswered. I would definitely ask your consultant just to put your mind at rest - i assume after two losses like this you'll be referred to a specialist?
the other thing that just occurred to me is that the colour might be influenced by how long ago the baby had passed away.
you don't give more detail but perhaps the MC at 17 weeks was diagnosed much longer after the baby had actually died, than the one at 13 weeks? it seems very likely this would have some influence on the colour Sad

Hi, I am so sorry for your losses, to lose two babies must be terrible. I lost my baby at 18 weeks but they think it had died a little before that. The nurse mentioned that the baby would not be normal skin coloured due to the fact it had been dead for a little while so I agree with sotough that if the baby had died more recently this would mean that they were more likely to be normal skin colour. xxx

Thank you so much for your replies. I am now thinking a bit more rationally! I'm really sorry to hear about your loss BBB, it's crap at any time, but by 18 weeks you can't help but feel more confident.

I think that the time between scan and diagnosis might have a bearing on it. My first mmc had been a normal 12 week scan, but at 17 weeks there was no hearbeat and the baby had not really grown, so it could have been several weeks since the baby had died. With my second, the time had to have been much shorter.
The difference in colour was just so marked that it keeps playing on my mind.
Thanks again for your replies.
