Curious as in my Sadexperience, no one has been able to tell me why, even though out of my 5 mcs, 3 of them have been the same type.

Hi, i've sadly just had my 12th, YES 12TH, MC. Although I have 2 perfectly healthy children already (7 year old girl and 5 year old boy) i'm terribly cut up. I have often wondered about taking asprin (75mg) but never tried it. I've only just been referred for tests but been told I could be waiting atleast 6 months for my initial appointment. I can't bare to wait that long. My husband and I are so desperate to add to our family and seems luck is against us at the moment.
I would really like to hear your advice on taking asprin to help prevent any more MC.
I haven't had ANY tests yet for 'sticky blood syndroome' yet, but can't help but think this may be the prob, as (sorry to go into detail, but we're all woman on here) when I have my periods they are often heavy and seem quite sticky? Could this be my problem? All your advice would be a great help. Thanks xx

Yes I was diagnosed with AntiPhospholipid Syndrome and incompetent cervix. I also have thyroid and Coeliac disease. Was treated with Heparin injections and aspirin and also a cervical stitch. I lost 4 babies between 7-23 weeks.

Hi, I had 6 mc. Had three before they would do any tests then bloods came back with a clotting disorder asprin would be the answer but have bad reaction so was put on clexane injections twice a day also had a serious bi cornuate uterus had a further 3 and was at the point of giving up just could put myself and dh and our families through it anymore.

After the 6th i was taking double strength folic acid 80mg of clexane twice a day and having fertility accupuncture and had an op to reshape my uterus to make it a more friendly place. We were also waiting for a referral to Liverpool Womens Hospital to ensure we had done all we could.

During this wait i found out i was pregnant again. I was devastated i couldn't bear the thought of it happening again...however my beautiful daughter is now 16 weeks old and i just can't get over it. Can't say it was a happy pregnancy as i never really let myself think it was going to happen but here we are.

I think my message would be to persevere. For me and my husband we just needed to know that we had explored every avenue before giving up and after 3 years we were at that point. Neither of us could cope with the maybe this is the one conversations anymore quite often it is at the point of acceptance that life lends you a helping hand.

We lost three before having our two daughters. We had every possible test done and nothing came back outside the normal ranges. Prophylactically, I've taken 75mg aspirin and 5mg folic acid throughout both pregnancies, as well as 10mg prednisolone and 400mg progesterone pv for the first trimester. During my DD1's pregnancy I was also prescribed HCG injections for the first trimester, but we moved area and the doctor refused to do this for DD2.

As others have said - persevere. It's corny but it's very true of pregnancy loss: if you're going through hell, keep going.

I've had 5 miscarriages as well as 2 successful pregnancies. Standard NHS tests showed no conclusive reasons, a couple of borderline results in relation to blood clotting and presence of anti-nuclear antibodies but nothing definitive. took 75 mg aspirin daily with both successfull and unsuccesful pregnancies.

I recently came across this paper www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0010287 which suggests that in some individuals who become pregnant very easily/quickly when trying to conceive, natural embryo selction may be disabled, resulting in implantation, and subsequent loss of, embryos that would not implant in other individuals. Interesting paper and pretty closely describes my situation.

i had two miscarriages (8 and 10 weeks), a long spell of infertility and treatment and then a successful pregnancy (natural conception). I had all the recurrent miscarriage tests, some of them two or three times, but nothing ever turned up.

I was advised to take baby aspirin and progesterone suppositories in the third pregnancy and who knows - maybe that made the difference.

the first two pregnancies were very easily conceived, the third took two years.

Hi, please keep trying. I' ve had 5 mcs but have two healthy children- 3 and nearly 2. I have mild PCOS,so after 4 mcs, 2 at 7-9 weeks and 2 very early, was precribed metformin to conceive, which appeared to work and after an equivocal Lupus anticoagulant result was advised to try enoxoparin. After 6 years of all the trying and mcs, I gave birth to healthy DS. Then fell pregnant very quickly afterwards without metformin and gave birth to healthy DS 19 months later. Sadly, had another mc this year at 8 weeks ish (actually had a mmc at 11 weeks). I was shocked to find that this was the loss that has affected me most greatly- I actually had started to relax and enjoy the pregnancy for the first time ever- didn't dream the old pattern would start over again. I suggested to my doctor that maybe this embryo had been chromosonally damaged and the enoxoparin made me retain it rather than mcing straight away. I am now pregnant again (very early though- 6 and a half weeks) without the use of metformin- tried a very good American PCOS diet- widely available on Internet which made my periods a regular 5 week cycle for the first time ever naturally. So, what can I say. I am actually doubtful as to whether I do have Lupus Anticoagulant as the test was so ambiguous but what do I do- I did have 2 healthy babies while taking it so daren't risk trying without it.

For me, I found it all deeply distressing and disturbing trying for so long and losing so many pregnancies before managing to carry one full-term, but at the end of the day I felt an iota of hope because I was actually managing to get pregnant. I don't know how many more I could have gone through, but I wanted to share my experience with people, because, be it because of the drugs or not, it is possible to have recurrent miscarriages and still have healthy children.

Also, I would really recomment this PCOS diet; I just picked out the main tenets like avoid bread and grains, and have lots of veg and avoid refined foods etc, and I found it successful in regularising periods.

Forgot to say, also was advised to take aspirin with enoxoparin, so am doing that too (low dose 75mg)
