16 days after ERPC, is this normal?

I had an ERPC over 2 weeks ago and my cervix is still very open. I also had an ERPC at Christmas time and don't remember this happening before. Should I be concerned about this?

Hi moof
A quick word with parents, midwife and gp, seems to indicate that 2-4 weeks is normal after erpc, although it can be sooner. So, no need to worry. Hth x

((hugs))

Ah, thanks YRMOTB. I got a shock at first that you had asked your parents until I read on! Can just imagine talking cervix with my old pair Shock

Warning, TMI, I think I'm also getting some EWCM so it might be open for another reason. I hadn't even thought about that because I know, through charting temps, that I didn't ovulate after the first ERPC.

See you back on t'other thread ;)

Sorry about your loss moofold. Hope you dont mind me asking you a nosey question, but how do you know your cervix is open?

Moofold · 19/08/2010 19:06

Good question MummyA, I'm actually not an avid cervix checker and a bit scared of it. While I was pregnant I was worried about lack of symptoms etc and brought myself to check what was happening with it, terrified it would be open signally a MC - but it was firmly shut. About the week after the ERPC I checked again and could clearly tell the difference, it was alarmingly open. Its closed a wee bit more now but is still fairly open, in comparison to when I first checked.

Its a bit minging but if you google it you can see some diagrams of open vs closed and it will give you an idea.

Thanks moofold

I have googled. I'm now wiser and slightly grossed out by the pictures (not sure why?)

Hope your recovering OK.
