MC 10 days after BFP - Do I need to tell the doctor?

Got faint BFP's for about 3 days after AF didn't arrive on time. They were so faint I was not hopeful and noticed brown spotting that didn't come to anything. Spotting lasted a week. BFP's got fainter until after a week finally turned to pure BFN's.

TMI coming up - Now it's turned to heavy bright red blood loss - no cramping or pain at all just lots of blood since Friday night and then an intense 3 hours of a lot of blood loss with 2 lots of what I can only describe as gushing feelings when heavy clots came out when I was in the bathroom.

Once those 3 hours passed, it went back to heavy bleeding with some clotting and has stayed that way since getting less during last night and now like a very heavy period.

I checked the NHS website which didn't really say you MUST seek medical attention but could call your GP or NHS 24 but if there was pain etc then go to A&E.

Well, I have not contacted GP or NHS24 or anyone because I have had no pain and it is soooo early. Should I let someone know?

Sorry - I am feeling pretty wiped so sorry for waffling on. I feel a lot better physically today and almost went to A&E yesterday during the 3hr horrible stage but was basically shut in the bathroom waiting for it to ease off and once the clotting passed, I felt physically better so decided not to go to A&E. I have heard they can't do much anyway...

Thanks for any help. I am a bit hazy but really would like some advice

Sorry about your mc Sad Although you might not need any medical help I would let your Dr know about the mc for a purely practical reason (if you are ttc again and have more mcs they won't start any testing until you have 3 mcs - you want to make sure this one "counts")

Hope you are feeling OK - I've had 2 early mcs so can sympathise

Ok thanks. I will just let them know then. I'm not sure what I am worried about telling them for - I kind of feel like it is so early they would just kind of Hmm at me you know? Silly I suppose.

Thanks for the reply - sorry you've had to do this twice. It is just so horrible.

Hi Tamashii

Hope you are feeling a bit better now, from your description it sounds like no easy thing to go through. You have had symptoms which are much more distressing than a heavy period so I would definitely go and get some aftercare from your GP.

Look after yourself and give this event the respect its due, as you say its wiped you out, so dont dismiss it as nothing just because it was so early.

take care xxx

Thanks MummyAbroad it's almost all away now. Yesterday was just the worst day. I just wanted it all to be over so I can just go back to "normal" and carry on with everything. This evening there's just some bright red blood left - no clots or anything so I hope this is it over. I am just relieved it happened sooner rather than later as I could not go through another MC and my heart truly goes out to those who lose their LO later.

Thanks for the kind words. I am thinking about letting GP know as I am also worried about underactive thyroid and have recently heard they are related to early MC or chemical PG so I will see if I am up to it next week.

You are very kind ladies.

I'm glad you are feeling better, hope the doctor can help you and that the future brings you much much better news.
