Any advice.. school deteriorating

I'm just after any advice please.

DS is in year 5. Always been really well behaved, worked hard, liked to be praised at school and competitive to be top/high marks

Since he started back in sept things have declined. It seems 3 new children in his class are very naughty and the whole class are being punished for example the teacher is saying if 1 pupil is naughty the whole class are being punished ans so where is the incentive for my DC.

They had a new teacher in September then part way through DS told me they had a change of teacher, then we receive a text to say they have a new teacher whilst new teacher will help out. Each day my DS goes to school not knowing which teacher will be teaching.

Ds always had a brilliant school report his year it was like teacher didn't know who he was, called him a she abs at one point said "I find DS to be very quiet". Parent evening didn't happen due to covid.

I can see my DS changing.

Would I be unreasonable to write to school about this. I really would appreciate any advice.

I think you would be unreasonable not to! There are some odd views on MN sometimes about how schools / teachers should not be questioned under any circumstances but any institution needs feedback when it is going downhill

Thank you for replying.
I've been trying to compose an email to send to them but I'm finding it hard to put it in an email, would much rather meet face to face to discuss but can't during these times.

I’m surprised that your school didn’t arrange virtual parent teacher consultations. Ask for a zoom meeting with the head. Or a phone call at the very least. Either way you have every right to question how the school is supporting your child if you notice something amiss.
