If you have awful anxiety or depression out of nowhere and are contemplating if it could be peri menopause, please can I encourage you to follow Dr Noor on instagram who has fantastic advice around this, based from her personal experience

Also follow Dr Louise Newson - she has videos on YouTube and instagram

This was also my experience, I was so bad I came close to unaliving myself. HRT has changed my world and I am so grateful.

A bump because I’m passionate about this, and wish more people knew about it - instead of being just put on SSRI’s which have so many side effects :(

I’m on HRT but the fluctuations in peri still kick my ass so I am also on a low dose SSRI to try steady myself as much as possible.

Feel good and am happy to have options.
Everyone should do what is best for them.

I'm totally with you (and for Louise Newson). As I got deeper into peri/meno my MH worsened, even on HRT. My previous GP upped my Oestrogen and I was a new woman and stopped taking my MH meds.

Unfortunately I moved & my new GP surgery has reduced my dose massively as they won't prescribe off-licence. I'm fighting a losing battle.

Currently about to see how they manage my joint pain that is due to the reduced Oestrogen.

Sorry to hear your GP Won’t prescribe you an increased dose, it’s incredibly frustrating how behind the times they are.

Could you try buying your own top up from a private pharmacy?

I currently buy my HRT privately online; I’ve moved house so don’t have a GP here yet, but also have very little faith in finding a supportive new gp frankly, so I’m prepared to stump up the cash and do it myself! I prefer to be in control.

I’ve used The Independent Pharmacy, and Treated, both excellent but Treated automatically subscribes you so watch for that,

I like to buy extra stocks from both places and stay ahead of any out-of-stock situations with my preferred brands (estradot and Utrogestan) so I usually have 6 months supply in the cupboard.
