Utrogestan help

Please can someone help me work out what to do here? I was taking 100mcg of utrogestan on days 1-25 and continued with that after upping Evorel to 100s due to increase in symptoms. Then my periods went to every 19 days, then 10. Thought it must be because the progesterone was too low relative to the oestrogen.
I saw the GP and she suggested to double the progesterone for says 1-14 to 'reset' and then take a break.
When I picked up the prescription today, it says take 200 of utrogestan on days 15-26, which would mean going a month with no progesterone. I honestly cannot see the wood for the trees. What do I do?

The standard instructions are to take it days 15-26, assuming you started the oestrogen part of your HRT on day 1 of your natural cycle.

However as long as you take the progesterone for 12-14 days each month it won’t matter at all when you take it. It’s important to take 200mg nightly due to your high dose oestrogen. However you may find you bleed irregularly if you are younger due to your own endogenous hormones affecting your cycle.

I'm 45. That is reassuring then as long as it's 14 days. A friend suggested the coil as that's worked well for her, but I'm not sure.

The coil can make life a lot simpler! And most women with a Mirena don’t bleed at all. Contraception and HRT for 5 years, all in one!

@LaProf You can't time Utrogestan round your periods because in peri they are or will be irregular.

And the bleed you get each month on cyclical HRT is a withdrawal bleed, so not your actual own period.

If you want to reset, the best thing to do is (if you know your period is going to be on time!) is to wait till mid cycle (Day 15) and take 14 days from then. It doesn't matter if this is more than a month with no progesterone especially when you're in peri.

Once you have done that, keep to the same DATE each month, regardless of any bleeds that come early (or late.)

So if you started the next 14 days on (for example) 21 July, you'd take the next 14 days from 21 August, then September etc.
