Perimenopause tips

Can anyone advise what has helped them with perimenopause? I am 44 and have been on 2 pumps of oestragel for around 18 months. I have a mirena coil and this has stopped my periods which is obviously great but I am now struggling with brain fog, more hot flushes, poor sleep, irritability, apathy, feeling really "vacant" if that makes sense. The gel has helped with all the aches and pains I was having, and palpitations, but feels like I have recently gone up a level with the symptoms and I am not sure what else I can do. I have a GP appointment on Friday. Any tips greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you need to have your oestrogen dose increased. I started on 2 pumps which my doctor then increased to 3 pumps after about 4 months because my symptoms had returned. So I would ask to increase to 3 pumps. It may take up to 12 weeks to feel any different so stick with it

Thank you so much for your reply. I honestly feel so shocked at the change in me as a person. I used to be quite jovial and interested in all sorts of things. I feel like I have changed into something which is the opposite of what I was. I can't be bothered with anything, and I am so forgetful that it I don't write things down it's gone forever. I hope this gets better. I appreciate the information about an increased dose taking 12 weeks to work. X

Perimenopause is definitely not for the faint hearted! I'm on 4 pumps now, and using testosterone as well. I would say I feel 90% better than I did before I got settled on HRT. I still have a rough day or two here and there, but I feel like me again. So stick with it, and good luck!
