Cycle length and regularity questions

Those who have gone through menopause, what age did your periods start going a bit haywire and what age did they stop?

Mine were between 24 and 30 days until today, when I came on at day 22. Last months period was average on day one and then spotting for 3 days (I was on holiday so wore tampons but really didn’t need them!)

I have always been completely regular but now the uncertainty is so annoying and I know this could go on for many years 😩 I gave just checked my app and so was like clock work until April last year and then they went rogue. I am 42 for reference.

I was 42. Wish id gone on HRT immediately.

Went on at 44. Mirena, high oestrogen (Gynae said the younger you are the more you need) and testosterone.

Never felt better.

I tried HRT and it worked like a dream but after 6 weeks I was hospitalised with an awful flare up of my ulcerative colitis which had been in remission for 5 years. I almost lost my entire colon and it took 4 months to recover. I really think the HRT brought it on so have been worried about restarting and don’t think I will for now

My cycle length was usually unpredictable, I never had experiences of finding that uncertainty annoying.

I’m 47 (today!) and I have an appt tomorrow to discuss HRT. My periods have increased in frequency and heaviness. I used to have cycle of approx 30 days. Last year or two sometimes was 21 days apart and currently on my fourth period since April 5th so basically one every two bloody weeks 😖
