Peri got me bad . Hair stopped growing , felt like I aged ten years in a week , joint aches , moods so low I couldn’t motivate to do anything you know it all … then my period on last count went and it’s been almost 11 months then I woke up this morning to a light bleed that is now a heavy bleed!
am so gutted I thought I was well and truly on the way to hitting menopause .. now I have to recount another 12 months don’t I.
so peri continues .. is that right ?
gutted I know it’s not world ending but dammit

Massive commiserations. I'm 54 and now on 7 months without. Not on HRT for same reason as you. I went 6 months a couple of years ago and was sick as a pig when they came back. Another thread on here a few weeks ago had someone this happened to and it was the last one,but so bloody annoying.

It depends what type of breast cancer, it is worth a chat with your GP. I've read somewhere that there is slight evidence to suggest that body identical progesterone might protect against breast cancer. Other things have higher breast cancer risks, alcohol and obesity to name two. Keeping your other risks low might reassure you and allow you to try HRT.

I'm 56 in a couple of months and have had this happen a few times. Longest was 8 months. I'm currently 3 months in again and counting.... not taking HRT, it's a perfectly natural life stage and I had most of my cervix removed in my late 20s due to early stage cancer cells being found in a smear.
