Did anyone else feel rough switching from patches to gel?

I’ve been on the evorel .50 patch and 200mg progesterone cyclically for 6 months, lot of things improving, then had some symptom return so up to .75 patch doing great.

Had some more symptoms return 4 months in and sweating causing the patch to come off so asked to try gel.

Felt great initially but now 3 weeks in on 3 pumps of the gel (2 in am, 1 in pm) feel like I did before hrt - very flat, low mood, fatigue, whereas a few things are better - gums not bleeding on gel, less bloated.

Is there an adjustment period? I’d be worried of switching back so quickly but I feel so low and horrible. Has anyone else experienced this or what was your experience of switching?

They say give any new regime 3 months.
It's worth checking you're using gel correctly- applying it in the right place, spreading it correctly, clean dry skin with no body lotions or fake tan, etc.

Would you like to say where you'r e using it?

Thanks, I’ve been using it on the outer arm so from outside upper to back of forearm.

I don’t absorb gel at all so like you my symptoms return. I’ve never had problems with patches not sticking though so can’t help I’m sorry. I hope you find a solution.

I might try the patches on my thighs. Where do you wear yours @SharkEnthusiast

That's fine . Are you spreading it thinly and letting it dry? A whole pump is quite a lot for one upper arm. More is absorbed if you make sure it's a thin layer over a large area. I use 1/2 a pump per upper arm and that is plenty for my arm.

You might want to try 1 pump across 2 arms and 1 pump across both inner thighs.

That’s interesting, I read about that today as well. I definitely let it dry but maybe I need a larger area then.

In the packaging (going back years) the information leaflet in the pack was suggested as a template for the area to spread the gel. It was more than the size of an A4 sheet of paper for 1 pump.

Oh wow okay I’m definitely not covering an area like that! Thank you, I will try that tomorrow!
