Does anyone miss having long swishy hair?

This probably means I'm a bit shallow but I really miss the hair I used to have in my 20s. I'm 56 and it's grey, frizzy and thin at the front. The only style that suits me is short, not quite pixie, which makes me look a bit stern and joyless. If I try and grow it long I look unkempt.

Daft and shouldn't matter, normally I'm happy to be scruffy and a bit of a wall flower but life/fate has found the one thing that I'm a bit vain about. <<sulky face>>

Feel free to mock me, it might make me see sense. Confused

I am 57, with thick long hair , which is silky smooth, thanks to henna (use it to cover the greys).
Don’t use hormones, only take collagen.

Styling and hair care make all the difference. If you want to grow it longer, talk to a good hairdresser. They might be able to be to make some recommendations.

I get lots of compliments on my hair because it’s long and thick and shiny. However, naturally it’s wavy and has a tendency to frizz. What people don’t see is the hours that I have to spend on straightening. I can’t just wash and go. A good cut also makes a big difference to how it looks when long.

I’m 53 and menopausal and my hair is as good as ever. I do take HRT, so maybe that helps matters?

I agree, plenty of swish here as well. I did get hair loss similar to post pregnancy hairloss for the first few months of taking hrt as my body adjusted which was a bit alarming. Fortunately it all grew back one my body got used to the hrt.
