Am I about to be hit like a truck!

So I’m 51. I have regular periods not massively heavy or light. Have minor PMT symptoms nothing out of the ordinary. I have a bit of muscle aches etc tennis elbow but again nothing I can’t cope with. I sleep well. Don’t have hot sweats etc. am a little anxious at times but again all manageable.

I was at lunch today with life long girl friends. 5 of us. The other 4 are all struggling. All on HRT. All reporting it helps etc. they reckon I’m putting my future health at risk by not taking it. I don’t take the pill or anything either and they think I’m heading for a big shock and it’s all going to hit me
like a truck!

my question is, has anyone gone through this to this stage and not needed HRT? Am I about to get the shock of my life? All advice and experiences welcome. Thanks x

Periods got heavier then stopped. Never had hot flushes. Never had any need for HRT only vaginal estrogen cream for atrophy

I started HRT at 44 because of a litany of perimenopause symptoms. I was really keen for HRT but when I found out about the impact on long term bone and cardiac health, and lowering risk of dementia, I grabbed it with both hands!

I've had no side effects at all, and my symptoms are so much better than they were. Some have totally disappeared. I also exercise, eat a nutritious diet and generally get enough sleep (thanks to HRT) - you need a holistic approach to taking care of yourself

Just looked them up. These are a very generic mix of ‘wellness’ vitamins. The profile is no different to any other multivitamin.

They have soya isoflavanes added.

Also be wary of the trend to medicalise normal feelings, This is very much my opinion.
I seem to have 'sailed' through menopause. Sometimes I get hot, sometimes I feel moody, sometimes I sleep better than other times but all these things have happened at other stages of my life as well.
Don't let doom-mongers worry you unduly. Many of us are not medicating.
