Still waiting for menopause at 58 - anyone else?

I do get a bit of brain fog and my memory is not what it was, but no other obvious symptoms. Still having periods every month - 'proper' ones, not just spotting. Thought I would be done with them at my age!
I did start my periods late at the age of 19 - could this be a cause? (I had disordered eating as a teen, but didn't link this at the time).
Is it worth seeing the GP?

I should add - I've never taken HRT. Not on any medication.

Mins stopped age 57 9 months!
They started age 11. Not sure if there is a link.

They say we take after our mum as a rule. My mum was 56 when hers stopped.

Mine were erratic for 2 years though.

I did not take HRT either.

I went past the 12 months at 58 and a half.
Hang in there!!

My mum was 46 when she went through menopause so no link there

Mine have just stopped, I am 59.

Apparently and according to other threads, the advantages of a late menopause is that symptoms are less severe.
I had brain fog too and a few night sweats and then a heavy period and then … nothing!

I'm not sure when mum went through menopause - we didn't tend to talk about that kind of stuff..
I'm really done with periods now though. They are not even that bad - am just fed up with still having them every month! (with the associated cramps)

Its worth keeping in mind that even if you still are having periods and not having symptoms it doesn't mean you aren't in peri. My mum had periods into her late 50's and then they just stopped no variability just got her normal period one month and then never again. A few months later after her first ever bone fracture she was diagnosed with osteopenia and then eventually osteoporosis. She had been very low in hormones for a long time but somehow still kept cycling as normal.

Not saying that will be the case for you but it is worth thinking about. Also continuous HRT should stop your monthly bleed if you want that.

ah OK I didn't know that about HRT! Might be worth going to ask the GP then.

Over 55. No medication. Regular as clockwork. Absolutely sick to the back teeth of it
