Is this a menopause thing as well?!
my urethra is burning Blush randomly. No UTI symptoms at all, no need to go more often etc. no STIs
did a thrush treatment in case it was that
any other ideas? Thrush cream helped but it was more that the cream was soothing rather than the thrush bit

I realised I never updated after it flared again today!

I was referred on the 2WW pathway, gynae described it as 1.5cm x 1.5cm soft sealing next to the urethra and basically they don’t know what it is but could be a gland. And they won’t do anything with it as they can’t remove a swelling (as opposed to a lump) and the scar would be an issue

it’s itchy and burning again today

I had an MRI which showed a similar lump 1.5cm - the report said - likely a urethral cyst (basically a blocked gland). Unlikely to cause pain.

It does though ! It's kind of like a burning soreness, flares up with hormone changes.

I saw a gynae who basically said the same thing, that they could remove it but that scar tissue often causes adhesions and further issues. If they operate then it doesn't always fix it because it's basically a damaged gland and if damaged it will just refill again and then I'd have a blocked gland and scar tissue.

In my case it was likely caused during trauma in childbirth.

its so annoying! I had a massive gynae op last year and had a mirena fitted and got my smear done while under GA
why couldn’t it have been there then and she could have looked?!

Oh that is really annoying! I think it i insisted they'd probably operate, but when I looked it up it was unlikely to be successful.

I find the idea it will never get better and go away very difficult
