Any experience of talking testosterone for low libido?

Just that really. I have had to come off HRT but asked for my testosterone to be tested and levels are low. GP wouldn't prescribe as he said it was unlicensed and his experience of patients on it weren't good.

I take it. Had to wait a year to see consultant who lectured me for not taking progesterone when it wasn’t available for love or money. Anyway said I wanted testosterone for low libido and she said fine and prescribed it.
I want it for better bone health and less brain fog, which it does and yes it does make sex more enjoyable.
It’s a little sachet of gel that you rub a little into your skin making the sachet last a week. Men use a sachet a day. It’s fine.
Drs don’t care about your libido, your bones or your mental fog. The gel is fine, loads of men use it. Testosterone is a normal hormone for us too. I like it and have had no negative side effects.

Yes for five years and it's life changing. Helps so much with strength and my mental health. I'm overseas though and have private health care and we are treated on symptoms not blood test results.

You need to be optimised on hrt first. Why did you come off it?

I believe testosterone converts to oestrogen if not established on hrt.
I'd push for a hysterectomy and get back on hrt then testosterone if possible.

I take it but was told have to take estrogen and progesterone as well. I take all three.

I think even Louise Newson, who is usually very positive on all things HRT estimates success rates only around 50% and that is when used in conjunction with optimised dose HRT
In our area, GPs are not allowed to start testosterone. It has to be started by a consultant then put onto a shared care agreement. What about the consultant who stopped your HRT, could they advise?
