TMI period question

Sorry for being graphic and TMI.
For background I take HRT (estradot and Utrogestan cyclically not continually as still regular periods) I have also been taking mounjaro but tapering down (this may be relevant). My periods are regular and usually quite thick - so heavy but kind of not flooding pads, it requires a clear out when I go to the loo rather than filling a pad if that makes sense?

This morning I had the most painful cramps. Period on time as ever. Pain like labour but worse. I went to the loo and passed a large clot (only discovered on wiping as usual) it was 1.5cm thick and about 8cm long. I’ve never passed a clot that size other than during miscarriage (and that would be a physical impossibility because I’ve not had sex in 18 months) As soon as it passed, instantly the cramps have stopped but so has the bleeding.

Now I’ve heard of people passing the entire lining in one go and I don’t think it was big enough to be that but I’m concerned that starting my progesterone three days late because of Xmas and not being able to get my prescription on time might have caused this weird anomaly. Also I take my progesterone first thing due to mounjaro and potential for slow or poor absorption which has never been an issue in 10 months but with the seasonal upheaval sometimes I took it later in the day after having eaten. I’m wondering if that’s caused a proble

i can’t get an appointment with my GP for three weeks and I guess it’s not a huge deal but I just wondered if this is just a normal perimenopause thing or if it’s likely to be a weird anomaly needing checked out. Thanks

That sounds nasty but- My understanding is that clots are nothing to worry about because the body's reaction to bleeding is to clot. If the blood had been 'sitting there' all night it was going to clot.

I'd say the only thing to talk to your GP about is if the bleeds get so heavy that you might become anaemic or you feel very poorly during the bleed.

Taking utrogestan at a different time of day should not make any difference.
You can use it vaginally if that helps and you don't need to adjust it around your WLI.

Thanks a- I’m used to smaller clots I’ve never had one this big before.

my GP called me in to say that when taking WLI and Oral HRT I had to not take the Utrogestan on a full stomach and when upping the dose of WLI I had to up the oral HRT dose too.
