Pink discharge - panicking

I have not had a period for around 18 months or so. In recent weeks I had some whitish discharge but nothing too unusual. But just now I noticed some pinkish discharge and I am really panicking now. Has anyone had this without it being cancer?????

Yes. My experience was slightly different as I went through the menopause 8 years ago (relatively easily, no half periods or anything, just stopped) and have (about 10 weeks ago) started having, pinkish reddish blood spotting after I had been the loo, especially if having a BM. Knew it was vaginal not piles etc. I had also been very tired. Went the docs, and they took it very seriously (which worried me). Doc took a full set of bloods (one of which has a marker for Ovarian Cancer,), felt my tummy, and did a speculum test which was all quite painful and there was blood in the area. I was sent on the 2 week urgent turn around for Xray of pelvis (they stick a probe up to examine) and then a week later in with Gynie outpatients where I was told they may do an internal biopsy etc. There are lots of "OK" reasons why you may have blood spotting including fibroids, dry vagina (really quite common after menopause) . You should not delay in going to the Doctor AND you should expect to be seen within the 2 weeks thing. BUT please do not worry, as most of the time it is the "something else" not cancer. My bloods came back first with no marker for Ovarian Cancer, then when they did the XRAY thing the specialist said, I can't see anything really worrying here (they are looking at the lining of your womb which should not have thickened). Then went I went into Gynie, the Doctor gave full results back and reassured me it was definitely not cancer, but I am going to get some hormone pessaries. I realise that there isn't always a good result for everyone, BUT GO, it isn't normal to bleed long after the menopause, but there are so many reasons that cause it, and only the proper healthcare can give you the comfort you need. HTH xx
